If you want clear, concise info about the SB800 & its use / features, you NEED to see this page:
SB800 Features & Use
NOTE! There are SIX pages of info - the first describes basic specs, etc. but the remaining 5 pages will answer nearly every question I've ever seen on DPC about these units!!!

I'm pretty sure its different than the manual (or at least, easier to read!) Good point though Dan - so I went to Nikon & found the manual too:
