Well it now seems my daughter will be traveling with us. So now Smartypants will have somebody around her age to hang with.

fyi - I'm also going to bring a Lenbaby for people to play with (Canon mount only, sorry)

I got a review unit from them - //www.lensbabies.com, so I'd like help in exercising it a bit.

Me and Smartypants have a ZOO ETA of about 10:00 am. We'll give Kirbic or Bugz a call when we get there so we can meet the group, who'll already be in the zoo by that time.

We'll only be able to stay through lunch, so I expect to be regaled with some amusing stories about the sunrise expedition and breakfast!

I got it, Thanks.

Sounds good John.

I am not sure I will make it to the lakefront by 5AM. I have a late night ahead of my tonight. But I am going to give it a go. Unless we have a real cloudy morning. If the sky is completely covered I will head towards the area of the zoo and call to find out where coffee/breakfast is at.

Hopefully I will be awake and ready to go by 4 AM and the sky will be clear.

also I never thought I would be saying this a few weeks ago. but I hope the weather cools down a few ticks for tomorrow. Yesterday was a roaster here. then again I mowed the lawn that always brings up the temp a few degrees. :)

Ok...I'm officially out. My niece called last night (my babysitter) she has strep throat. Hubby is working over time and the grandparents are out of town.

I hope you have an absolute wonderful time...and I can't wait to see the pics. Maybe, we can plan another one in the Fall...go to the waterfall at Nest Pewit's around Baraboo and Devil's Lake. Quite beautiful in the Fall.

Sorry to hear you can't make it Terri... Perhaps next time!

Looks like we're going to have very nice weather. The slight chance of showers that was in the forecast midweek is gone, and prediction is for mostly sunny and mid-60s. Sounds perfect, though sunrise will be a little chilly, no doubt!

I will need that chilly to keep my eyes open at that hour.. lol

Not to mention that it's always a few degrees colder right down by the lake. We took a trip to Brookfield last night and it was a good 10-15 degrees warmer there than here in Milwaukee by the lakefront.

boy I am pumped for this. Can't wait till I get off of work tonight and get some shut eye before I make the great escape out of the boondocks.

I'm here in Caladonia now at the the Jellystone Campground. I'm undecided yet if I will be there for the sunrise part. Holy shit it's cold here. It was almost 80 when I left Dubuque. Anybody want to come visit your welcome. I'm in site 22

It is a good thing that I decided not to camp. the wife hates being cold

Come on now. You do not live far enough south to be calling this cold.. lol Right now I am not sure about the sunrise either. I just got home from a dinner party and have a couple of batteries to charge before i go to bed. I am setting the alarm for 3AM will see how well I wake up. If I am not at Sunrise. I will get ahold of someone and find out where breakfast is.

LOL, one of my batteries is still on charge too. I spent the entire afternoon and evening cutting trees and burning brush; I'm beat. I still need to pack up the car and take a shower. I *will* be there for sunrise, though!

I'll be there for sunrise.

My batteries are done charging! Finally... Now hopefully I'll be able to grab 4-5hrs of sleep before hitting the sunrise! It's only sleep right?

A big shout-out to Brian, AKA Bugzeye, for organizing one heck of a GTG today in Milwaukee.

Me and Smartypants were only able to join for a few hours at the zoo, but what a fun group! I'll post some more pics later on.

thank you very much. I am glad so many could make it, I had a great time. It was an awesome day.

I am about to dive in to my pics now and see how many I will have to delete. Hopefully my version of the shot of the year turned out. lol

Unfortunately, none of my "shots of the year" are really good to show. Aaaaargh!! Blurry, other pitfalls, etc. What a load of crap!

I want to thank Bugzeye for organizing today's GTG. I had a great time, & thanks to my Nikon gear I wasn't even charged admission to the zoo. Here's most of the Canon crowd, showing their gear.
