Am or going crazy or has the acronym DPL got nothing at all to do with the photo to be taken!!
The ficticious band "DPL" needs a photograph for their first album cover and three words to go along with their acronym. Your challenge is two-fold: first, come up with a three-word name for the band to explain to interviewers what "DPL" stands for, and second, photograph something appropriate for their debut album cover. Be sure and title your submission the 3 words you came up with for the band (for example: "Deadly Pumpkin Lizards").
I've read the challenge description and it seems to suggest that DPL is the band name and the Photo is for their debut album. Therefore you could enter... 'Drunk People Laughing' with a picture of a Frog. The name of the Debut album being 'croak' for example... this would make this a completely open challenge!
Best scores would be expected for entries who used an eponymously titled debut album!!
Or, am I going mad and missed something here??

I'd like to enter my first challenge. I've got a couple of killer acronyms, but as someone else said, making it happen is something else entirely!
I also wondered if anyone would subtract votes if you used conjunctions or whatever, like "Deadly Pumpkins of London" or whatever.

I think the best scores are going to be given to entries that are technically sound photo's that have content derived from a clever acronym. I could be wrong but I think thats what I will probably vote higher for. |

Is this supposed to be a square crop? I mean it makes sense for album art but the description didn't say anything, unless I missed it. |

I would use a square crop. there was all kinds of bitching in the movie poster challenge when people used landscape instead of portrait. |

Do you want Fonts with that? I cook my own fonts, well done of course.
I hope no one will try:
"Drew, Paul, and Langdon" or "Desperately pleasing Langdon"
I initial thought was "Donkey, Pig and Lion", but then I opened my mind and better ones spewed out. |

OK, after much consideration and prodding by a fellow dpcer...I'll join a team. First one to hit me with a PM is unfortunately stuck with me.
Cheers.

You were gonna remain nameless...but y'all have him to blame now.
Besides, having a reason to shoot might get me back into the swing of things.

glad to see it. I was disappointed you were not on the list when I formed Click Click Boom. Hell, you came up with the name a few seasons ago. |

I love my shot too and I wasn't even going to enter, but an opportunity arose and I went with it. Still, because I love the shot, that means the score will suck wind. It always does. |

Question. Does the album have to depict the name of the group? I mean, can't we just come up with a group name for dpl, and have an album name that may have nothing to do with the group name? Like for instance, Long Distance Voyager was by the Moody Blues and the cover actually matched the name of the album. So do you think we will get voted down if we choose to have a group name and a cover that matches the title of the album, rather than the group name?

The voting group is so diverse I don't think you will get a unified vote. Come up with something great & clever - just go with it. |

I'm in. Pretty excited. I have put a little mini-bio for the fake band in the description. Too bad that won't be available till after the challenge.
Can't wait to see everyone's submissions. |

I'm in too! I'm with the rest of you, I like it so it probably won't do well... on the other hand it might because....well you'll just have to see. ;)
Hope there are more entries, this could be a really fun challenge to vote on if everyone just does a little brain work and tries it out. Hoping it's gunna be at least 150 but I have my doubts. |

I think that you will get a TON of comments saying that it DNMC or they don't understand it. The rules say "The ficticious band "DPL" needs a photograph for their first album cover and three words to go along with their acronym." so I would think that for whatever your DPL stands for the picture should say it too. When it comes to things like this I like to think that if the image didn't have the words, the actual picture should tell it.
