I took a family vacation to California a couple of weeks ago. We were fortunate enough to have a little time to spend in Yosemite National Park. I have never been there before, but I have seen so many photos, especially those of Ansel Adams. My goal while I was there was to try and emulate his work. How did I do? I would appreciate any feedback, good or bad, that you might have.

Thanks

Beautiful images. Cathedral Rocks (#3) is by far my favorite of the bunch.

I'm speachless, nothing less than stunning work.

1, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 13 are my favs.

Composition is perfect IMHO and your b/w post is spot on. All gallery hangers if you ask me.

Well done!

Visiting Yosemite National Park briefly is one of my fondest memories.

Excellent captures, B&W works so well with Yosemite and you hit them perfectly. You even had the opportunity to catch the low clouds over the valley. Well done!

Thanks! When I first arrived there I was very disappointed because I wanted to capture some shots with dark blue skies, but that didn't happen. I thought for a bit that the trip was a waste of time. I'm just glad that I stuck it out and looked for some interesting compositions anyway.

The times I've gone has been nothing but blue skies. It's nice for a while, but gets old real quick and I was wishing for some clouds. The dramtic skies like you have there are much more interesting in my opinion and gives a great mood to your photos, especially in b/w. Nice shots!

I'd say you did great and it also looks like the weather was interesting, which really makes the images in my opinion.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. Like I said, I was really disappointed when I first got there, but after looking at them over and over on my monitor, I've been really pleased with all of them. Thanks again for the looks and comments.

Scott, Looks like you came back with some really good photos. Glad you were able to make the most of some drizzle. The low lying clouds do a lot for the atmosphere.

You should be proud of this series. Hope you had a great trip!

You've inspired me. I've decided to play hooky from work in the very near future. :)

Absolutely Mark! Head off for a day or two from work! We all have to do that every now and then.

After looking at those I realize that I need to go there. Those are fantastic.
