I took a family vacation to California a couple of weeks ago. We were fortunate enough to have a little time to spend in Yosemite National Park. I have never been there before, but I have seen so many photos, especially those of Ansel Adams. My goal while I was there was to try and emulate his work. How did I do? I would appreciate any feedback, good or bad, that you might have.
Thanks

Beautiful images. Cathedral Rocks (#3) is by far my favorite of the bunch.

1, 3, 5, 7, 10 and 13 are my favs.
Composition is perfect IMHO and your b/w post is spot on. All gallery hangers if you ask me.
Well done!

Visiting Yosemite National Park briefly is one of my fondest memories.

Excellent captures, B&W works so well with Yosemite and you hit them perfectly. You even had the opportunity to catch the low clouds over the valley. Well done! |

Thanks! When I first arrived there I was very disappointed because I wanted to capture some shots with dark blue skies, but that didn't happen. I thought for a bit that the trip was a waste of time. I'm just glad that I stuck it out and looked for some interesting compositions anyway.

The times I've gone has been nothing but blue skies. It's nice for a while, but gets old real quick and I was wishing for some clouds. The dramtic skies like you have there are much more interesting in my opinion and gives a great mood to your photos, especially in b/w. Nice shots! |

I'd say you did great and it also looks like the weather was interesting, which really makes the images in my opinion. |

Yeah, I'd have to agree. Like I said, I was really disappointed when I first got there, but after looking at them over and over on my monitor, I've been really pleased with all of them. Thanks again for the looks and comments. |

Scott, Looks like you came back with some really good photos. Glad you were able to make the most of some drizzle. The low lying clouds do a lot for the atmosphere.
You should be proud of this series. Hope you had a great trip!
You've inspired me. I've decided to play hooky from work in the very near future. :) |

Absolutely Mark! Head off for a day or two from work! We all have to do that every now and then.
