looks like a lot of people thought it was the former, i.e. a photographic term referring to the differences in tonal range in an image, when it seemed like the description meant the latter: juxtaposition of opposite or differing elements.

As a result, voting on this feels like i'm voting on 2 different challenges mixed together. it's aight; ain't no thang - i just thought i would point it out. mostly i dont want to be unfair to the large number of people whom i feel didn't 'get' it, so I'm just going to rate each picture on it's own merit and pretty much toss out the 'meeting the challenge' element this time around ...... :)

		| Take a picture that demonstrates contrast, where one element is differentiated from an other by light, structure or other compositional approaches. |

before I did this challenge I did my own research on the web for photographic contrast.

I have to say the defination left me to believe both were possible. Tonal values and opposites and differing elements or patterns. Simply because it states or other compositional approaches. |

think there's two threads running on this...
I thought there were a a lot of other good interpretations out there. Of course, as you would know, you do so at great risk to that score thing. |
