Just for fun I am playing with my challenge scores in Excel to judge improvement, digression, etc.

But when I first started with a simple average of all my challenges, my average score reads 6.011, yet on my profile it reads 5.997.

I have judged whether it is including or not including current ongoing challenges and it is not. The numbers still come out differently.

Any ideas?

the thing i can think of is that the system goes to more than just 4 digits past the decimal...it just doesnt show it...

When you just take your average of scores in Excel, it doesn't include how many votes you got in different challenges and treats all scores equally. :)

Your average score is a weighted average, I think. Try this:

(avg in challenge) * (# votes in challenge)
add all, divide by total number of votes received

I'm not sure, but perhaps your current challanges are counting...
(my average in Excel is lower than the report, but I'm al little
confused about my current scores).
