| Ohh, just had a thought. If it's Cinco de Mayo on Saturday...would there even be a hotel room available in town??? Guess we need to decide quickly (if possible). :) Or...we can just drive down really early Sunday, then drive back. I'm ready to roll... |

Expedia's showing availability for Sat. night. Among others, Howard Johnsons for $89 and Days Inn for $59. |

I had so much FUN at our last Austing GTG. . .sniffle sniffle. What time are y'all getting together. I don't know for sure what time Abby's birthday party is -- I'd love to try to swing both if there was ANY way ????????

8:00 a.m. Meet at the South Side of the Capitol Building and see the Capitol Goddess

10:00-ish. Head to 6th Street (Old Pecan St.) for lunch

<spring arts festival will be taking place>>
2:00-ish?
Carpool to Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Park
late afternoon head for food and fun at Cinco de Mayo festival
Since I've never been to Austin, no less Texas...I welcome alternate proposals and suggestions on where to eat, etc. (Please, please, please...) |

I guess this is definite then and I can book a room? :D We will be driving down (hubby to hang out while we go shoot, lol.) so I'll have room to cart folks around when needed.
Do we have a definite head count yet? Could end up being you and I KaDi, lol! Still would be a blast!!! |

We're actually coming in on Friday...so if you'll be staying over Saturday night maybe we could get together for cocktails, dinner, music...whatever Austin might have to offer?
I'm also still available Monday for anyone who would like to try and do something that day...I never fail to amuse myself but I do enjoy company.

8 a.m. on a Sunday??? Yikes. Since I've been to the capitol a zillion times, I think meeting for breakfast around 10 is more my style. ;~D
I have a new Honda Pilot - holds up to 8 people but it'd be crowded. 5-7 would be optimum but I'm a native so I'm willing to drive.
I guess we need a head count.
I could pick people up at the capitol - parking is no big deal and we could whisk off to eat. FOOD IS GOOD. I won't drink but anybody else who cares to embibe - knock yourselves out.

That's why I figured we could have different times to gather people. I'm usually up by 7:30 on any particular day...which would be about 5:30 Texas time...so I know I'll be out wandering the streets before everyone else. <>

Wow! A designated driver! Best offer I've had all year! Actually, I don't drink and shoot...shoot and drink, yes, but the other way around leads to strange images in one's challenge portfolio. :)
As long as we agree when and where to begin, I'm open to any schedule following...as long as I'm not left off in a ghost town by myself after dark... |

Was waiting for suggestions (from someone I will not name, lol) on hotels, but feeling the need to get this done.
Are we definitly a go for the capitol at 8:00AM?
AND...did anyone catch that one challenge this weed is Cultural Events. Hmmm, they new we were doing Cinco De Mayo, lol - as is half the country! :P

Is this the plan? I'm not sure yet but I maybe able to attend either the spring arts festival at 10:00 or the wildflower place at 2:00. I won't know till later today. |

| Sounds good to me. I talked to Kat by email the other day and we said we would try to meet under the dome (inside) on the Texas Star. If the doors are locked, meet on the South steps. Sounds like it could be a fun day. |
