1) I like the train pic with the dark lighting and the way just the lights, tracks, and walls are lit.

2) The red building... Don't like the tree branches hanging that far into the pic because it obstructs the top of the building. And the building on the right is a little distracting. Did you try shoting from a little more to the left?

3) Same problem with #3, the tree is in the way.

4) The boat... Use levels to remove some of the blue tint. Clone out the little boat on the right.

5) I really like this shot of all the boats in the harbor. Again, you should have shot at an angle to leave less of the tree in the shot. Pic is a little small. Great composition with the 3 "strong" boats in the foreground.

6) Another harbor shot. Pretty good. May need Unsharp Mask to make it crisper.

7) Sunset. Looks a little blue for some reason. Should it have more red in it?

8) Second sunset. I like this one better. The reflections on the water look out of focus. Maybe your camera couldn't focus?

9) The water on the rocks is a little boring. Maybe capturing a breaking wave would be better to give more interest.

I love the first one of the train. I'm a big fan of minimalist photos and how your shot only gives us a few lines and forms but it is enough to understand the subject.

The rest all are pretty unappealing to me. They don't really strike me as being particularly interesting in subjects or techniques. It's not that they're necessarily bad shots, they just don't draw me in at all.

I'm doing this without reading the other responses, so ignore it if I repeat something.
1- This is a fun image. I like the darkness, with the rails and the walls lit. The rails are perfect, but I think I wouls like more detail and light on the walls, just so there is not so much black in the image. You should be able to draw out some more wall detail and light with editing tools (ie, dodge tool in photoshop). I would also try a different crop, so it doesn't feel so centered. Well... I'm bored, so I'll doctor it up in Photoshop. I didn't put much time into this, just a quick edit to show you what I was thinking... I also desaturated the colors in the train lights using the sponge tool.

Hi Richard...I love the train shot. It is very well done and shows me something that is not often seen, that's why I like it so much. That is what I look for in a photo. Architecture shots in general don't capture my attention unless they give me a new perspective on the subject. (I hardly see any of these anywhere.) Just a personal taste thing. I like Motif 1 a lot, too. The reflections are beautiful and so are the colors. They are all nice shots, but the above are my favorites. In my opinion, the water on the rocks is not boring...I like it. The only objection I have to that shot is the blurred foreground rock on the left of the photo. I like the pattern of the water and the way it caresses the rocks.
