Clive the Clidesdale, purposely taken with only half his head showing. I was going for just horse shapes in the background but the DOF may be just a little 'too' shallow.

Some bird shots from a recent trip to Vancouver. The Red Wing Blackbird was at the Reiffel Bird Sanctuary in Ladner. The other was at the Bloedel Conservatory in Queen Elizabeth Park.

I love how you prefaced this. :)

Left a comment on the horse photo. I find it to be a very interesting image.

Thanks for the comment. Clive is not a horse to stand still for very long though I did manage to get off a few shots before he changed position again. ;o)

I'm quite suprised that this thread faded so quickly. The photos you posted are fun to look at - and nobody has commented? :/ Could be the hundreds of images in voting to get thru right now. ???

I wonder if anyone out there can positively identify the birds in this photo ==>

As a hint to the bird id search, they were photographed inside a tropical greenhouse. My guess of Superb Starling is based on similar birds seen in Africa.

Anyone have any other ideas?

edit: thanks for the additional comments -- I'm making an attempt to return the favour to anyone who comments on any of my images (I usually fail miserably at this task though you'd never suspect that base on the stats. ;o))

Yikes! Don't visit MY portfolio...it's a mess! I really, REALLY, need to do some pruning/reorganizing. Unfortunately that task falls to the wayside everytime I go out with camera in hand. :)

I'll get to returning comments as soon as I can. ;o)
