Sometimes I get some helpful comments during a challenge, but I can always count on Team Suck to take a longer look at my images and share their thoughts.

Mostly the no comments. I thought it would inspire some comments, whether good or bad. I still hold some hope that it will inspire someone before the challenge is over. |

I'm at the same place - I got one comment that just has a number.
I got decent scores to begin with and then it dropped very a lot. Do you guys think that could be (because I'm wondering since that tends to happen a lot to me) because at first people are liking the thumbnail? |

My Free Study sort of has me puzzled as well. I thought just from the weirdness factor it'd do better......it's got a heck of a viewed/voted ratio, but only three comments.
I am kinda getting the sh*ts of Free Studies......I just don't get the spectacular shots necessary to get the scoring.....that's okay, but now I'm sucked into the marathon, and I'm just not a quitter.....RRRRRR!!!!

Regardless of the score (and don't get me wrong - I'm thrilled with my score !) - I'm excited about that particular photo. I dare say, it is one of the best I've taken so far.

but my Triptych is at 5.2. I guess this shows me the subject in you shots are very important because the tech quality of my triptych is very poor but a great subject. on the othe hand my free study is a good quality photo (IMO) but a yucky subject.

I am learning lots doing the 30 day B/W challenge the comments have been great. I still don't understand alot of the lingo, everyone uses a different program. I think it would be cool if people would say what program they are using to post process with, I'm using photoshop elements 5. So I don't have a lot of features others talk about so I get lost (oh wait that's normal for me)
You guys are great you have taught me alot. |

Hmmmm..see, I read that you have a sucky score and low comments and get excited to see the image because, knowing you a little, I naturally assume that amidst the glamour and colour and "take it in in 2 seconds or less" imagery that is the nature of the Free Study, you have hidden an image that is thoughtful and respectful. Perhaps it's not screaming "look at me" but rather waiting patiently for someone to pause long enough to make friends with it, not passing acquantences. Don't worry about it Don, after the madness of voting we shall spend some time with it and some of us might still not get it but some will understand it, it will find it's audience...quietly in it's own good time. |

That's what is great about TS - we can all depend on comments following the voting. I thought I was going to get one of Melethia's "No Comments" ribbons with my symmetry entry, but Metate ruined it for me :-) The good news - he left a great comment. The bad news? No one else seems too taken with it.
I agree with you cosprenks that the B&W PAD is an EXCELLENT learning tool. I'm getting tons of honest feedback over there.

| Tomorrow night a group show, Photo Image 07, will open at the Nexus Gallery in Philadelphia. One of my photographs will be part of the show which runs from May 4 through May 27. The grand opening is next Thursday, May 10. Tonight is the pre-show party for the artists-major panic attack time. |

Did you ever find out which photo it was? I don't remember you telling us. Hopefully I'll be able to find (make) the time to stop in and see it in print. |

It was taken when I was photographing a celery root for the minimalism challenge,  . It's not this frame but a different version of the same. |
