Here are a few more.
This is the first hike that we did.
Shortly after we started, we came across this car in "Slot Position".
We had to climb down this car to continue the hike down this slot canyon.
This was the first of many challenging descents and ascents that faced all of us hikers that day.

ha...ha. No it is more like I have a ton of "real" photography work to attend to first. Then Red Rock edits for fun. |

This is one of my favorites from the trip and what I should have entered for the April Free Study.

Nice shot Tom. That full frame sensor coupled with your wide angle lens gets a little more on the sides than my combo does. |

All nice shots. I especially like the one with the two guys (I can't remember which two) on the ledges. They look tiny compared to the rock formations and really help to understand just how big this place is. |

Talk about a small world. Last September I rented the exact same boat you guys did. I checked it's registration numbers on your and my photos. How weird is that! I even framed and sent this shot to Big Water Boat rental.

That is strange. I bet you didn't crash, and thus replace, the prop like we did.

Nope, no crashes.
But I was worried about getting jammed between the walls in some of those tight canyons! That would be tough to explain. |

"Crash" is little overstated, don't you think? Now you've hurt my feelings. Next time I'll just have to be conservative and say "No, we can't take the boat into that shallow water in the narrow canyon that a crosswind is funneling through to drop people off on the rocks."

Thank you, LoudDog. You were a big help in choosing the places to go, the times, and how to approach people in order to see what we wanted to see. You were there in spirit whether you know it or not.
Now, Eric. Stop giving Robert such a bad time about the prop. I think it was the big carp that got the prop over night while it was docked. ;-) |
