My day was a little busier than normal, I'm getting ready for a birthday party tomorrow night and being a good Mommy I baked a cake and cupcakes this afternoon. Cake came out of the pan beautifully and was sitting on the kitchen table cooling. I figured while it was cooling I would finish some folding some laundry and when I returned to the kitchen 10 minutes later and I found the cake shredded, paw prints all over the place and these two "little innocent angels" sitting on the table looking at me like they didn't do a thing...

But of course I picked up the black one and there was cake on her paw so I put her on the floor and then I checked her brother's paws and he had chocolate cake not only on his paws but also in his wiskers. I put him down and got the squirt bottle out which they are both afraid of and set it on the table...The cake was a total loss so I had to bake another one, cupcakes are safe as long as my little boy doesn't find them or no one turns the oven back on.
But ever have one of those days that the work just keep growing instead of ending? |

That's our whole week. Three kids, all with the stomach flu, but not at the same time! That would be too convenient. No, they chose to all be sick, one at a time. I just got puked on for the 5th time this week (not to mention the other countless times we've had to clean it up, change bed sheets, clean the couch, floors, pillows, etc.
My wife was sick Tuesdaynight and all day yesterday. The 5 year old got shots at the doctor on Wednesday, the 1 year old got shots today. I got hit in the ribs with a 2500 pound piece of semiconductor manufacturing equipment that we are extracting and shipping to China (nothing broken, but sure is sore). I'm the only one in the family that has not been sick this week, although I've been having severe stomach cramps this evening. Oh yeah, and I'll be getting laid off at the end of next week. Ummmm that about covers it.

This is why I always admit freely that my wife has a much harder job than I do. We only have one 2.5 year old girl, but she is a HAND FULL. Sometimes I miss the days when you could put her on the floor, go into the kitchen, and come back to find her in the same spot. Too bad I wasn't into photography then.. Still got lots of pictures, but now I can't even think about trying to get her to sit still :-0.

Off the subject at had but it fits in the same catagory. I was 8 years old and we were at my Grandparents for X-Mas dinner. We had an old LTD station Wagon that had a tailgate. I will never forget my Moms face when she let the tailgate down and set the freshly baked Spiral Ham on the tailgate. My Grandfathers Doberman pincher "Angel" jumped up and in one bite it was never to be seen again. My Mom had one of those days. |

Oh, yes, I know how that goes - brings back memories! I am soooooooooo glad our kids are older now!!!! Although, sometimes I wonder, with four at home, ages 9 through 22, it gets pretty hectic sometimes. You know, THAT IS THE REASON WE DON'T HAVE A PET!!!!
