Here are some from the Grand Canyon. I must admit that I like the photos a lot better than I enjoyed the canyon itself. It was hot and crowded, and I really missed the sense of awe that I was expecting from it. While neat, it failed to compare with everything that Becky took us to throughout the week. Glad I went...probably won't go back.

Just curious Eric ... are you using a GND on these? I bought some Cokin filters for my trip this weekend and am wondering how they will turn out and the dark skies in your images make me think that's probably what you were using.

And everyone else? They *must* be valuable, because you guys are hoarding them all to yourselves! :-)

I'll post some later today. I was waiting to get my computer back so that I wouldn't have to post pics that were processed on my laptop and without Photoshop, but I won't wait that long I guess. I'll give my best shot with what I have to work with and post a bunch by this afternoon.

No rush... (did I really sound all that demanding?) I'm patient. I just figured you guys were all back home by now. Take your time and do it right.

No problem. I was kinda feeling guilty like I was letting some folks down who have been wanting to see some of the shots that we got.

I've also been sleeping a lot for the last two days. I went to bed at around 11:00 pm to midnight every night and got up at 4:00 am every morning except one (up at 6:30) and I couldn't sleep on the "red eye" on the way home. So I am just now recovering from my "vacation".

Actually, none of these had the GND on. They were all done with a circular polarizer and the sun just happened to be in perfect position to what we were shooting that day. It is funny you mentioned it because I even said to Cutter that the CP was working wonders while we were out shooting. I do use the GND quite a bit, and you'll be happy with the purchase, but none here. With the one black and white shot, I used a soft light layer in PS, filled it with red and took it down to about 60% opacity. That works great if the blue if the sky is all one color.

Okay... I'll have a circular polarizer with me too. I took the CP with me to Moab last year but fell in love with the GND when Becky showed me how she used hers and the effect it had.

Okay, David. I finally got my son off the computer for long enough to upload a few shots. They are in my Red Rock GTG II folder. Hope you like them.

I'm so jealous that I missed the wave. I will have to go back now. Great shots Becky!

VERY NICE!!!

Now, how about you ... are you using a circular polarizer in these or a GND?

I had the CP on my lens for these, however, the sky was so blue that one was hardly needed. We were in awe of the blue skies. I think that it helped cut through the glare and really made the colors of the rocks pop.

These shots are straight out of the camera, resized only. I was using my in-camera settings for landscape/vivid on the saturation. The camera has an even higher saturation level that I didn't use. I was afraid the colors would not be believed if I did.

Here are mine finally. Post processing was limited to my laptop using Nikon Capture NX (no Photoshop) due to my home PC undergoing repairs and upgrades.

I hope that they look alright.

Yes it is. There was barely any water.

Skyler, you're in Utah! You're practically there.

But you are invited, anyway, to the 3rd Annual Red Rock GTG next year...

...coming soon to a forum near you.

I just got home a few minutes ago. I couldn't resist continuing my trip for a few more days....The southwest corner of Colorado is sweet. Durango/San Juan Mountain Range and a lot more. It might be a week or so before I edit a good handful. But I will post some finished products eventually...

I even played golf with three Navajo tribesman.
