Round: Show us roundness, however you want to express it.

The challenge is "round," not "circle" or "sphere." That's all. Back to your regularly scheduled voting.

round1 ( P ) Pronunciation Key (round)
adj. round·er, round·est

Being such that every part of the surface or the circumference is equidistant from the center: a round ball.
Moving in or forming a circle.
Shaped like a cylinder; cylindrical.
Rather rounded in shape: the child's round face.
Full in physique; plump: a round figure.

there are of course, other definitions too numerous to post

the challenge was to express roundess however you want to express it.

So, according to this definition a circle and sphere don't have roundness? Or do you mean those are not the only things that have roundness?

I mean those are not the only things that express roundness. Circles and spheres certainly meet the challenge, but so do lots of other things.

Ah yes, thank you. Then I agree!

I was rather disappointed to see the lack of creativity amongst the entries. Countless pictures of marbles, moons, and whatnot, not to mention the numerous entries titled "Round and Round," or something to that effect. My idea for this challenge, although I knew I couldn't fulfill it, was to get a picture of the beginning of a boxing match, and title it "Round One." Why didn't we see more photos like that, which define "round" in a different way?

fear of a low score. you would have gotten a lot of 'this isnt round' comments.

The title of "ROUND One" would be sufficient, I think. Even so, it would be a fight in the "squared circle." ;)

Another idea I had was with ammunition rounds. Unfortunately, our guns and equipment haven't been unpacked since we moved.

I think the problem here is one of wordplay. The idea of this site is not who comes up with the best pun, or link to their image through a tenuous title, but the best photo that captures the essence of the brief.

For instance you couldn't really describe a boxing match as 'roundness'. The only link to roundness would be the title - unless you came in close and macro'd a boxing glove perhaps - then I reckon you'd be sorted.

'The Essence of the Brief'... EXACTLY!!!
You can capture the essense of the brief in all sorts of unusual and creative ways without having rely on puns and wordplay which dilute that essense. Well put Jon!

I guess I'm just wanting to be more creative than most.

Please! Just don't necessarily expect high scores from the majority of the voters.

I'll go for it if I see something clever. It's all fun.

So long as you do 'clever' and not wordplay you may be successful with voters too. And it is fun - and addictive... ;)
