You cannot be disqualified for not meeting the challenge description. There was no rule that said you must use 3 images. I suspect those who requested validation are actually questioning whether or not that image meets challenge.

Yeah, there seem to be a lot of them lately :( Way too many.

SC is not obligated to ask for the original and do a full validation if someone asks for validation of a photo. Many requests are discarded because of a variety of reasons. For example, if someone reports an image as "DNMC", we usually don't go on to request proof.

@cindy, you're in the wrong challenge with that comment :)

I concur with Cindi's observation.

However, the word triptych itself should be a warning to the photographer.

In case there are people that have never heard of this, the prefix 'tri' means 3.

So the voters that ask for a validation are free to do so, but at the end of the day, those images that are quadtychs will prolly not do so well.

EDIT: Just realize I too was in the wrong challenge. OH WELL. Let them eat cake.

Is this conversation about 'Rule of Thirds' or about 'Triptych'?

Thread title says one thing, some of the posts are talking about the other.

Just to get off the topic and because I dont really want to start a new thread for one question - Does a photo submitted have to be 4 sided. Has anyone ever submitted a triangle or circle and how has it fared. Would you still have a triangular photo on a square background. Ta.

Yes, it would still be a 4 sided image.
