I am looking for a shutter release for my Nikon D80. Are there any particular things I shoul look for in this purchase.

Get the wireless remote one man would say! The other would say no the cable because u cant use the remote from all angles. Another man would say no the cable jogs the camera. Another asks what about an electronic release cable that plugs into the base contacts.

and this man just says... get the cheapest option of the abovementioned and one which suits your needs and requirements.

but dont take that from me really - i'm a canon man... we can't be trusted ;)

you cant go wrong with any type, just your own preferences come into play in the long run. I have been very happy with my cable release, it serves its purpose, that is all, no bells or whistles to write home about... just a tool with which i can take long exposures or minimise camera shake for macro shots.

Considering the D80 doesn't have the 10 pin remote terminal that the D1 series, D2 series, and the D200 have, your options are limited. Pick between the corded or the wireless.
