I imagine someone else has had this problem and posed this question, but I'm hoping someone will help me out and repeat the answer.

I'm trying to work with images from a Canon EOS 400D that were saved in RAW format. I'm editing them in CS2 but the only way I can find to save as a JPG is to "save for web." When I do that I lose all EXIF data. I'm getting irritated as I try to figure out how to do it with no luck.

Can someone please help?

You have to convert the file to 8 bit first.

Image > Mode > 8 bits/channel

Then, you can Save As > jpeg.

Thank you. That was so simple. I tried converting to 8 bit and opening in ImageReady and couldn't save as JPG. I never thought to convert and try in Photoshop. Thanks a lot.
