Clean hit???? Up to this point, I had a lot of respect for your knowledge of hockey! :) Of course, I tend to think that anybody who takes a shot at Drury should have Mair and Peters hunt them down. :) Anyway, my week from Hell is over (DJ'd 4 parties and went to Miami on business for 4 days), and I can finally start watching the games again. The Sabres could very well sweep the Rangers, but if they don't I think I'll have to use a pair of tickets for game 5 so I can at least be there for ONE game of round 2. I have access to 4 pairs of tickets for all the games, but I don't get a chance to use them as often as I'd like. But either way, LET'S GO BUFF-A-LO!! |

Wonderful mentality that... but I assume you think it's OK to have one of those guide muscles attack a goaltender huh? :O)

Ooops. Detroit took advantage of the Sharks scoring two quick goals and deciding that was enough (again) today... but if you're a Detroit fan, you should fear winning that way. You woke up a team that probably shouldn't have been woken up.. just when they're coming back home for 2.
Be afraid Detroit.. be very, very afraid. |

You guys are a bunch of dreamers - it's Sens all the way! They just let them other guys get those goals in Game 1 cause they felt sorry for them. GO SENS GO!

Of course it might help if the sharks wouldn't stop playing after they get a lead...... ;) |

I'm pretty stoked for the Canucks game at home tonight! There is always SO much energy in GM place, Canucks are a way better home team.

Gah - can't believe my Sens played like a bunch of dorks in the first period, though to be fair that second goal of NJ's was pure flippin' luck. Well at least they played a good second and third period and a fearsome first overtime. Now they're home, maybe they'll play better, though traditionally they're a team that does better on the road.
PS Ursula - I never knew much about hockey before either, but in 2001 I lived at a house owned by Pat Martin, ex-wife of former Sens' coach Jacques Martin. She took me and my then-b/f to see the Sens at home and they WIPED the Bruins out 5-0. I was hooked! My new b/f's dad, Bill Godwin, used to play for a historically interesting team called the Inkerman Rockets, btw, so if you google them they'll turn up.

They say it usually only takes attending one live game to hook someone on the sport. |

There's nothing like hockey let alone playoff hockey.

I never liked ANY sports for a long time and only got into hockey because my wife was waching the Playoffs in 2002 when the wings won the cup, and I was hooked, then my first live game was a tremendous experience. |

Well, I am from Ottawa and I'd like the Sens to win, but my bet is on the Sabres. |

And they came through, though it was a helluva battle - 2=0! And Candle is right, they did get killed by the Sabres last year. But their lineup (Sens)has changed so much who's to say? |

Good grief! Rangers escape with the victory. Why they decide to go into a defensive shell in the third period I'll never know. All that did was play right into the hands of the Sabres and it almost cost them. Well that and Lundquist's titanic brain fart. Geez.

Ouch. Vancouver blows a 2-0 lead in the third period, and then loses the game only a couple of minutes into overtime. That's not a sign of a team destined to go far.

That wasn't a "must-win" game though...

That one really wasn't either. The next three are though. Vancouver certainly has their work cut out for them.

I remember living in Vancouver in 1995 when they went to game 7 - and lost. The ensuing riot was unbelievable. Having said that I've not really followed them too much. |

Well, I'll say it now (it's already been said, just not by me)--if the Sabres don't pick up their game and start skating like they know how, the Rangers will win this series. I can't BELIEVE how lackluster these past two games were, win or lose. The only players on the Sabres who deserved to win the last two games were Miller, Zubrus, and Drury. Everyone else is playing like they're injured, or just don't care. Who would have thought Briere would have far more penalties than goals, and Afinogenov would be a healthy scratch! If we don't win on Friday, we're doomed. The Rangers are playing like their lives depend on it (Hell, in New York City that might be the case!).
We'll just have to wait and see... |

I followed that series ('94 as Artyste has corrected) as well. Was living in PG at the time. Too bad they didn't show up for the third period (and OT) last night.

Just a small correction. That was 1994, the year they took the Rangers to 7 games in the Finals. |
