Can anyone explain to me how I would go about requesting that my own submission be DQ?

i am not completely sure , but if you go to your own photo, it says something about ' if you think others may vote to diqualify you' you can ask for a request of sorts-- maybe asking there is the place for it-- good luck-- why do you want it pulled?

Well i took my photo and spent some time editing it to where I liked it and when I checked my score and comments every single comment I had, all 8 of them, made reference to how dark it was or why did I make it so dark.

After looking at it, the photo that is submitted is not the photo that I edited, it is extremely dark and I am unsure how it happened as I still have my original that I submitted.

So rather than submit everyone to wasting their time on this shot, I would just as soon remove it.

I don't think you can (or should be allowed) to DQ your own pic based on "I put in the wrong one" because that happens to me every other challenge (tho I'm never sure how the other would do). lol Also - wouldn't this just lead to people DQing their own pics whenever they get scores they aren't happy with?

Actually mavrik its not that i submitted the wrong pic...

When I submitted my file the picture looked fine and is still fine saved on my hd, however the one showing in the challenge is extremely dark

My thought is only that with so many submissions, saving folks that are voting from looking at something that is crap maybe be a plus.

It's not about the score I am receiving, it is sucking right along with the photo.

Either way I don't care, I can ride it out along with the rest of you

Question.
Are you using the same monitor to check your photo as the one you have on your hd. From one monitor to another there can be a big difference.
Also what you see in your edit program can also be different from a web version due to color bit avail. Is your monitor calibrated?
There could be several reason why you can view it from your monitor and have a different picture.
Try this. open your web browser then open you file using your browser.
To do this, Go to FILE then OPEN then find your file. This will tell you if there is a difference between the one you uploaded and the one on DPC.

Yes to all of that Musicman, it is just a lot darker after being submitted, this is the first time I have noticed such a huge difference in the files.

Hit yourself softly on the head and repeat the following phrase..."Why did I submit this?!....Why did I submit this?......"

to have yourself DQ you need a good reason such as you accidently submitted a spot edited version. And to have yourself DQed you need to send an email to Site Council...I accidently submitted an edited version recently and I sent a pm to Terry (Club Juggle) wasn't long til it was dqed.
