Hi,
I can see dust bunnies while looking through my viewfinder yet they don't show up on my pictures. I cleaned my sensor thinking this was the problem but they are still there. Any ideas? Thank you.

| Remember that when you are looikng through the viewfinder that you are seeing what the sensor sees when the mirror is down. ;) |

Its on the mirror. That doesn't show up on your pics, but you will see it through the viewfinder.

| how do you....or DO YOU clean the mirror???? I would think that you wouldn't touch it, but I've never owned a digital SLR before, so I'm clueless. |

You can remove your lens and clean it the same way you would the lens- a micrifiber cloth will work nicely.

Most of the time when I have issues like this, the dust is on the focus-plate for the viewfinder, not the mirror. Sadly, on the XT the focus plate is damned-near impossible to clean effectively because it's recessed into the body. |

Apparently I don't know what I'm talking about. It's the focus-plate that I'm referring that is recessed into the body that chimericvisions mentioned that has dust on it. I thought it was called the viewfinder.

A Q tip works good. Use a fresh new one and blow any loose fibers off of the Q tip first. You can get lint free Q tips too. The mirror is delicate so be careful.
