I was going to post saying that perhaps it's not the best idea if you post pictures of yourself nude, as it seems that you're scared of how they may be 'used' out there. From my point of view, I think you're overly sensitive about this, but then my wife feels the same way about how photos of her may be seen and 'used'.
The important thing though is not to jump to conclusions, and give people the benefit of the doubt. Don't let your fears run away with you!
And well done for having the courage to post them in the first place.

You think I'm going to PM a guy who freeked me out?

Freaked.

What if this was a grandmother? What if this was a child on the site? Why does it "freak" you out that someone adds nudes? There's free porn all over the net - dpc is photo art. I think there's an artistic reason and so ... wait, I am lost, WHY DOES THIS MATTER?

well, that might be your best solution, paige. its difficult when you are sensitive about photographs and others enjoy them enough to give them special attention.

I have to agree with Helene though, we don't need such an inquisition here. If someone likes nudes..what's wrong with that? There is no pornography on this site, so why be concerned if a list contains all nudes? Maybe he joined to get ideas about taking nudes because its that area of photography he is interested in or works in. I understand how initially you felt uncomfortable with it, but enough has been said in (unnecessary) explanation that I think you ought to be assuaged. If someone doesn't vote, that doesn't make them a bad dpc'er either. maybe they just came to look or just comment. If you enter, its only polite to vote, but if you don't, enjoy the site for what it means to you, and not what others think you ought to do.

I feel uneasy with the number of witch hunts that have occurred in recent weeks. Let's stop micro-analyzing the people who come here and just focus on why we are here: photography.

2c take it for what it's worth.

ahh, but we do complain about too many cat photos and too many kid photos and it is my business when it's MY photos we are talking about.

Perhaps I shouldn't post photos that I may be sensative to.

I would say yes, that's a good idea. People have to realize that this is a completely public venue for displaying your work. Once a photo is on here, it is available for anyone to use for whatever purposes they so choose, whether they are your intended purposes or not. Your choices are really only to accept that or to keep your photos private. Complaining about someone having added your nude photos to their favorites will not make those photos private or restrict how anyone can look at them. As we have seen, it only served to attack and embarass the person who added them.

Last time I checked, the PM services of this site were entirely confidential. He's a nice guy. He probably would have just explained and/or taken your pictures of his favorites list. Now he's the subject of public scrutiny for his tastes.

How is he the subject of public scrutiny? I never named him and my shots aren't on his favorites any more. I doubt anyone knows who he is or will remember tomorrow. If he really is a "nice guy" then I am sorry to have jumped to conclusions, I learned a lesson from this and perhaps he has too.

AHA!!!
Joannadiva has my missing favourite... grumpy chicken!
I was wondering who had the mystery favourite... I wonder why it doesn't show up?
Every favourite should have at least (1) next to the title in favourites... the number represents how many people have it as their favourite.

Maybe you find someone who has all bare feet pics favorites, keep looking!

Wow. Someone's first day on the internet is it? Or don't have anything else going on so the need to create a situation creeps in?

Give me a break. I think Journey said it best so no need to repeat her.

Dear gawd, I sure hope no one is interested in child photography and has some favorites selected. If you are, don't come here because I'm sure you'll be hung for being a pedophile. Hey while we're on this tangent, what about the people that have favorite pictures selected that only show people the same race they are? They have to be racists then right? No doubt about it.

Not to mention myself, I mean I only have 2 photographers in my favorites and one of them is Dr. Jones, wow I must be a total pervert.

it's insensitive people like you who make this world a depressing place to live in, I can only hope that when my daughters grow up that they don't meet and marry a man with your views.

Insensitive, let's talk about that. Accussing someone of something that you have no proof of and obviously do not care about his feelings or any kind of harsh treament he'll receive because of this I find particularly insensitive.

Have you received nasty or perverted emails/private messages from this person? I highly doubt it.

No, you didn't name names, but it's a pretty good bet that there are some people on here that will do nothing but search through the user list for him until they find him. Look what happened not too long ago without "naming names".

I'm still failing to see how my comments were insensitive. Did I assume something based on my own feelings and not stop to think about someone else? Umm, no. All I did was use the same scenario with a different subject matter. I see we share the same hopes, as I do not think I would want the luggage included in it :)

So, to wrap this up. You make a statement about someone on nothing more than mislead judgement, but I'm insensitive. You post photos of a "nude shadow" on a public internet website and freak out when someone might like it for it's artistic value, but I'm insensitive. You call someone insensitive because they point out, based on your judgement, what this could lead to.
...But yes I'm insensitive.

Nothing to see here folks... let's wrap it up.
