purple - there were small lights and they do match up with the streams of light
But I am confused as to how I got two streams from one of the lights. I must have bounced the tripod - that would have to be about the only good technical explanation.
I guess I was thinking that there should have been a lot more blur tho on the markers if I had moved the tripod so much.

I go by Jeffrey. I'm not sure I've made that point here before, though. So thanks for asking. :)
As for being creepy, what can I say? That word fits any 38-year-old woman who apparenty looks like a young boy. *snicker*
You got a real self-portrait anywhere?

I was going to guess those were ligtning bugs, but those don't flash 15 times/second. So I'm going with wingtip navigation strobe lights on fairies. :)

Thanks. I also moved my computer (and its supporting cast of Desk and Bookcase) downstairs as part of a Spring Cleaning re-org, and thoroughly tweaked my already wonky knees. Luckily this photography hobby doesn't require a lot in the way of physical prowess.

I think purple said something too about lightning bugs but it was way too cold when i took that.
Strobe lights on fairies works for me!

Heh heh, not to freak you out, but there were 5 lines of light, not just two. If you do a levels adjustment, you can see more of them.
My sensible explanation would be that for whatever reason, the camera was pointing to the dark bit of the graveyard at the start of the exposure, then quite quickly you rapidly shifted it to the lit up bit, and the reason the blur doesn't show is because the dark bits were dark, so wouldn't have shown up.
Or it's ghosts :p |

Purple - coool. I'll have to try that on some of the other shots I have.
I am sticking with the excuse of GHOSTS because it makes a crappy picture seem more interesting.

Ahhh ... ya know, electric lights might well flicker with the alternating current, but it's too fast for us to see, whereas a quick camera movement would smear the flashes across the image. But that's usually 60 times/second. Maybe it's seemingly a lower frequency because some of the "on" cycles overlapped. I was wondering about that when I saw that one of them seemed to start with the bright light in the middle.
But ghost fairies are much more fun!

I added an explanation to the bunny. Much fun as it is letting people think that the demon bunny materialised after being summoned through some strange satanic ritual... |

Save the OOBIEs for the photographers! hahahaha
I don't mind that "King of OOB" title, though...

It's funny.. a bit ago I was going through my old challenge entries, and I realized that I was out of the box before I even knew about being out of the box. Makes me happy about how I've "stayed true to my vision" or some such significant-sounding thing. LOL :-D |

Oh and this is me on a good day
hehe
There is a reason why I take all the pictures! There are two other pics of me in the challenges. One is RED (hiding good!) and the other is BAD.

Have you had people tell you they actually thought this?

Your answer is too technical - I am sticking with ghost fairies lol.

Okay, I just tried a few shots to see whether I could get flashes off my neighbor's porch light (which he leaves on 24/7, much to my environmentalist consternation).
No flashes, but kind of fun nonetheless:
Reminded me of when I played with a handheld laser and my daughter's giant Barbie head, drew letters with an LED pen, and generally goofed around with painting with light:
I also know I've seen a similar flashing result in another pic that was discussed in a forum thread. I just put up a new thread to ask for help finding it - couldn't find it with either image search or forum search.

I count on you to do so, Kelly. If you start taking crisp pictures of mountains, bugs, flowers, or Washington's monuments, DPC will be a poorer place.

And no dashed lines... Now your neighbor's house is probably closer than the light in my own pic.
Ahhh the extent of ghost research. I will be back with more pics for you guys to analyze in a few weeks lol.

I got the dashed lights in a picture before from street lights. You just need to move the camera extremely quickly. And it maybe depends on the type of lights too. |
