Hmmmmmm, every one of mine was on a tripod. Every one was manual focus.

7/10, 14/20 were with tripods. And two of those 6 without were just because I don't have a permit to use a tripod in our subway system; I sure would've preferred to use one!

It's the EXIF information that's giving those photos out, the voters see the tripod model there and vote higher. |

OK, sorry if this is a stupid question but where on earth do you find the information on the camera used and whether a tripod was used to take the photo when you vote on a photo. |

You don't.
A lot of my challenge entries were shot with a tripod. A lot of them were shot after dark, so handholding would have been a dumb idea... |
