I was honored to meet Kaizer , a.k.a. Evan today as he is visiting Alaska. We went got together at a nature center to do some shooting. Here are a few pics I took of him

Evan is a really nice guy - if you ever go to S.Africa you really need to look him up!

Nice pictures. If you check out the camera manual, it'll tell you how to use the self timer so *YOU* can be in the photos too! Hint. Hint. Nudge. Nudge. Wink. Wink.

Thanks for sharing... that helps whet my appetite for our trip to your fine state this summer!

Ok, I guess this is my Que.

Guys, Alaska is Amazing. As ShutterPug puts it, "one big postcard".

I have really enjoyed the experience here in Alaska, and the trip to AK is prob a lot more difficult for me (Being from South Africa) to organise than it would be for most of you. Its on your your doorstep... relatively speaking :)

Linda, Just to say again, thank you for taking the time to show me around Eagle River and getting me to finally see a "Yurt". Was a great day.

And guess what, I know how to use my self timer.

Sadly, I am currently at Anchorage Airport, on my way out. Next stop San Francisco.

Regards
Evan (Kaizer)

I hope you'll let me know when you are here...would love to meet more DPCers.
Who all is coming with you? I don;t have a huge place, but have a spare bedroom if you want to save on the hotel bill.

Thanks Kaiser, now I know what shutterpug looks like. Wow, what a big camera you have! Sounds like a good Alaska GTG.

My wife, daughter and I are driving cross country to Seattle and taking a cruise from there in July. Unfortunately it doesn't stop in Anchorage; it goes to Juneau, Glacier Bay, Skagway and Ketchikan. I'm sure none of those places are exactly convenient to you, but it would have been fun to meet up! :)

And the travels continue.... In San Francisco today. Yosemite tomorrow. Some sort of bicycle tour (around the bay) on Sunday.

Just about all photographs were overexposed today. It was not a good day.

Evan,

Looks like you're still having fun. I was wondering....did you drive into the Palmer or Hatchers Pass before you left Alaska?
