I just bought a laptop, an Acer Aspire 5570Z.
Acer Aspire 5570
I wasn't looking for widescreen because I do a lot of deisgn and website work, but it has the option to make the screen the same aspect ratio for me to work in 1024x768, so there's no problem.

I will install PS CS2 and play around with my Wacom and see how it goes :-)

You Like your Wacom?

I cannot figure it out...

What software are you trying to use it with? I don't have PS but all the pressure sensitive stuff works in the GIMP.

Mine works pretty cool, I'm left handed but mouse with the right, so penning with the left and driving with the right hand is sweet. My pewter get Scitzo from time to time.

Works a treat for editing photos.

Also if you are running Vista turn on the Tablet PC functions that is cool, it has writing recognition... fun for jotting notes.

I love my Wacom. I have a Graphire 4..

I installed PS CS2 and Wacom and it is working sweet. It loads faster than my AMD desktop, 2200+ (1.5GHz), 512 MB RAM..

It was a bit difficult in the beginning. Took me a day to get the hang of it. Keep practicing.

I bought my Intuos3 6X8 several weeks ago. I love it. I played multiple games of solitaire to get used to the feel. Once you get the hang of it, you'll never go back to the mouse.

As for the Laptop, Congrats ignite. You'll appreciate the smaller size later on when you begin carrying it with you all the time. I've got a work laptop that is huge, and it is so impractical.

I don't know if you're doing this too or not, but the hardest thing for me to figure out is that touching the pad is clicking, and hovering over pad (not touching) is moving the cursor. My pen, too, works upside down, so no idle tapping for me!

Forget double "tapping" with the pen. It's a pain. Use the top button on the pen. It works a thousand times better.

You should play games here with your Wacom. These are amazing!
