I went to the largest camera store in my city, and tried out about 5 different semi-fish eye attachments for my old P&S. None of them worked well, and some were quite expensive models. Got onto ebay, found a reasonably cheap model and decided to go for it. The result worked far better than any of the in-store options, at a decent price.
Even still, I was a little unhappy about the way the vignetting circle worked (a peculiarity of how my camera zoomed). The seller was more than willing to refund or exchange it, but after some consideration, I decided that since it was better than anything else I'd seen, I'd live with it's minor limitation and I kept it. Since then, I've been pretty happy with it. It also fits my DSLR now, and on the DSLR, it doesn't have the same vignetting problem. |
