I tried to search if this had already been asked and I couldn't find anything, please excuse me if this is a repetition.

I think it would be nice to be able to find all the messages written in the forums by a certain user, directly from hers/his profile page.
When I look at profiles I want to learn something about that person and being able to read what she/he wrote could be useful. Now I can see only the last threads where they posted, and sometimes there are threads of 10/20 pages (and more) and I should scroll over all of them to find what that person said.

More in general, I think it would be useful to search messages in addition to threads, it's a feature of other forums that I use a lot.

You could forum search the username... it would pull up most recent threads and highlight the username!

The only slight downside, is that although it shows what thread someone has been in, it can take a lot of searching on a big thread to find the individuals contribution.

But at least it points you in the right direction :- )

You can further search by using your browsers "search page" option to find specific username entries in the thread.

ETA: There's ALWAYS a way... just depends on HOW determined you are!

This only works if the author was quoted in a thread. Notice this thread did not come up for the link for the OP.

How about just adding an "Author" checkbox to the advanced forum search and have the results use the page anchors in the links.

Well, what I was saying is that they should print out the forum posts everyday and send them to you to organize and file them based on the Dewey Decimal system and when someone wants to search for a post by a specific user, they would call you up and you would look it up for them.

Glad you're onboard with the idea. ;-)

That sounds like a terrific system !! Normally I don't get to play with any paperwork as my wife confiscates it before I write on it, screw it up or eat it.

this way I would have loads to play with and what I didn't need I could stack in neat piles around the edge of your Castle :- )

Yes I know that there is a way, I was only suggesting to make it easier as it is a tool that I find useful on other forums.
Of course I can live without it :)
