I'm taking the plunge! I don't see a FAQ for the challenge submission form, and I need some help with the fields.
1. What is required in the Details field? And where does this show up during and after the challenge?
2. What about Location and Search Keywords? I'm guessing a geographical location is what is meant.
3. And what happens if I check off the "indepth critique" checkbox?
PLEASE if I've missed a FAQ or some other instructions, send me a link. I did look around but I couldn't find anything. Thanks!

will help the best I can...Im sure more experienced people will help too.....

well, this is where alot of people put stories or details behind the shot, what they did, what edits, but its pretty much whatever you want..nothing required.
2. What about Location and Search Keywords? I'm guessing a geographical location is what is meant.
I usually put geographical location, and for search keywords, like if it is a flower at night, I will put FLOWER and NIGHT.
3. And what happens if I check off the "indepth critique" checkbox?
You get a more in depth critique after the challenge..I really like these, as I am still very much an amateur.
Also, by looking at other challenge submissions from past challenges, you will see all this stuff right under the picture. hope this helps.

You don't need to add anything, but general comments on your photograph plus your post processing steps are the convention. The don't show up during, but they show up after the challenge. Check out any photograph, either challenge or other, to see how this area is used.

Location is where the picture was taken. I always use the city. Some people are more precise (as in a room in their house). Search keywords are the keywords you want people to hit on when they search for photos here. I never add them. But, if your picture is of your cat, putting in "cat" would be a good idea.

The Critique Club may give you an in-depth critique of your photograph. It's not guaranteed though. You could also ask in the forums for comments on your submission once the challenge has ended.
Hope this helps.

I like it when people put their post-processing steps (if any) under details but nothing is required there. Others tell the story of when they took the picture. The details do not show up until after voting is over.
Location should be geographical location of where the photo was taken but again, this is not required.
If you request an in-depth critique then you might receive a comment from a member of the Critique Club within a week after the voting has ended.
I hope that helps. Good luck!

I believe Location is required, but listing just the city is specific enough. |

correct me if I'm wrong...cause there is a good chance of that ;)... but location is mostly important if you are not in the US cause your time and date of your image will be different and may fall outside of the challenge times.
I am in Japan and worried about this cause I am technically half a day ahead of when the challenges are. I can take a last minute photo and still submit it, even though the picture date/time will be off, the location helps determine if I'm ok or not. Does that sound confusing? |
