My lover is quite round. Can I score with her? |

Well...I am a bit disappointed on my finish in the Round challenge, but my camera could not quite do exactly what I had planned. Not sure if any camera has that depth of field. Here is what I wanted (of course edited). The moon and flower were all shot at the same sitting, with varying DOF and focus, Edited in the Moon to my originally submitted shot. Any comments appreciated.

Yea, that second picture is alot nicer. I would have given it a 8 probably. All the other moon pictures were just the moon, yours added another nice element.

For "roundness", I still would have found it a stretch - the flower is just so much more prominent. I probably would have given you the benefit of the doubt, but might have kept a point or two off for it.
As for the shot, it's an interesting idea, and I want to like it, but it just has an unballanced feeling. I think part of it is you have what sort of stands out as a light source (the moon) shining from one side, but the flower is lighted from the other direction. I'm not saying that's what you inteded to portray, it's just the feeling it leaves me with. |

Thanks. I see alot of roundness...the moon, the petals and leaves, the flower itself infers round. But, that is how these things go. What I saw when I shot it, may not come through when viewed by another person.
On the lighting, no moon in the shot if used its illumination. (C:
Thanks again

the moon looked like a reflection of the torchlight used to shine on the flower! I didn't know it was a moon until I looked at your original photograph (thru your forum post) |
