Glad you had fun anyway. Dry ice, what a neat idea!! All I had was chopsticks and didn't get anything either. Oh well, on to Bubbles or Thirds.

and hey... must we recruit Dipple-Wipple teams on the Team Suck thread? This is supposed to be a vacation from that, complete with hammock and cheap imported beer. |
Eh, WriteHeart has a good point - for those Suckers who do want to play, this is a nice place for them to find a team that may not take it too terribly seriously. Which is a good Team Suck point of view. Besides, once recruiting or searching is over, those conversations have their own threads. I think we can reasonably support cross-playing Suckers.
Looking forward to seeing all these interesting kitchenware shots! |

My kitchenware shot was suggested by my husband -- the same person who recommended I enter the brown ribbon winner in the Trains & Railroads challenge. This may not get a brown, but it definitely sucks. |

Yeah, but you got a fantastic insects shot! For that matter, several suckers had great shots. :)
And can I just say "YAHOO!" about the triptych challenge. That's something I'm definitely gonna enter.

I was kinda wondering about that myself.
I certainly don't see myself going down that path.......I like it too much here and the regular competition makes me nuts enough without adding extra pressure.
Besides, that way when I tank one, I'm not dragging down a team.

Okay, what is Dipple-Wipple? for the slow ones here, lol.
Just finished voting Kitchen shots...WOW, some very creative shots in there!!!
In for thirds, not sure how it will rate but I like it, I expect maybe a 5 if I'm lucky, lol.
Way to go Griz!!!

I thought I had a good one for Kitchenware. Voters think otherwise. I should have learned by now not to get excited about these things, huh? Ah well. All the more incentive to go with a non-traditional Thirds. Won't be disappointed with the score then. :-) |

What do they know, I just finished voting Kitchenware, I didn't really find ANY bad shots. I'm sure yours is just fine!! I was really impressed with the overall quality of photos in this challenge. I am sure yours is one of them (high quality), high score or not.

Goodness, my Kitchenware entry is on a 5.3. I was expecting it to suck a lot more than that. |

Don't know my actual score, but my landscape has 9 positive comments, and one useless comment from a guy with a 3.3 voting average. I even marked it "useful" just to take the piss. |

Sigh - I don't usually get excited about entering a challenge, but I foolishly let myself do so on this one. That will teach me! But it's a beautiful day here, and though I have a lingering sore throat and cold (blah) I get to go to Amberg (I think it is) for three days this week, then to Garmish next week (maybe, depends on funding). So hey, all is good. :-) And speaking of trips, I'll try to get some of the shots I took in Cologne posted in the next few days. |

In the Washington Post's annual word-coining contest, I recall someone came up with 'sarchasm' - being the distance between the author of sarcastic wit and those who do not - er - get it.
I think there may be some sarchasm involved in the scenario quoted above.
Congrats on the 9 comments :)

Ooh, up to 5.45 :) Though notably, that's after a Team Suck member voted on it and left a comment. At least I appeal to my selected target audience. |
