GO STARS!

If it goes to 7 and the canucks lose, you are going to need more than a Zamboni to protect yourself... |

Detroit won't even make it out of the first round.. it's 2004 all over again. (not to mention 2006.. ) |

But you once stole (er, we lost) Brett Hull and a few other favorite STARS players, so I cannot condone the Wings winning, ever. :P |
If you can't make the stars of the STARS happy in Dallas, that sounds like a problem for management.
They don't call Detroit Hockeytown for nothing. |
I thought Detroit was Motor City? ;oP

Well.. It's getting down to crunch time!
Buffalo/New York Islanders: Buffalo pulls off a win, despite New York's attempt (and a really brilliant one) at a comeback to stay alive. Miller's beautiful no-look, Hasek like, desperation save at the end of the game will be highlight material for the rest of the year. You have to give kudos to New York, they really put an effort into this series, but just didn't have the depth.
New Jersey/Tampa Bay: Where the heck did the Lightning go? Well, they were there, but Brodeur made sure that they didn't do anything this time around. It looked like St. Louis and Lecavalier didn't have much left. We'll have to see how Game 6 goes, but personally, I want Tampa to take it to a game 7. This is a very entertaining series.
San Jose/Nashville: HAH! Go home you dirty bastards. Nashville once again tried to play nasty to take San Jose off their game, but San Jose persevered, and sent them packing. This series is over in 5, and good riddance. Character win for San Jose, that's all I gotta say.
So we're down to three series left. Dallas/Vancouver, Detroit/Calgary, and Tampa/New Jersey. Go Vancouver, Calgary, and Tampa :) |

I think that save saved Buffalo from losing this series. At some point they will need to realize they can't just turn it on and off and expect to win.

OMG!!!! Did anyone just watch the Wings/Flames game?!?!?! With so many game misconducts they should just make them (the Flames) forfeit game 6!

DOH.. I quit watching when Detroit went up 4-0.. so I didn't see the end of the game. (I don't really like either team very much, so when it's a blow-out, meh..)
Sounds like I missed something nasty though.. other forums are completely up in arms about it. |

OK I gotta say this. In the first two Calgary-Detroit games I was unimpressed by Calgary, then in games 3&4, I gained a bit of respect for them. But after the complete meltdown in the third period of game 5, I have lost all respect for them as a hockey team. The senseless retaliations were NOT what hockey is about. They will be truly lucky if Iginla doesn't get a suspension and their backup goalie is definitely out. I can understand being frustrated and upset that a team is beating you, but there's definitely a point that the Flames crossed. |

I see 'tuzzi fought dion, who won that bout?
Also, Lidstrom with 4 pts, that man is a machine.
And what on earth did mclennan do? Hack someone in the face? I dont think ive ever seen a goalie get a match penalty for slashing before... |

I think 'Tuzzi won, he practicaly threw Dion to the ice, then it took 3 refs to pull him off... McLennan slashed Franzen a couple of times in front of the net which is all and good, a penalty, but nothing noteable, then, after the whislte he turned his stick and slashed hard to Franzen's stomach... he was on the ice a total of a minute and a half. |

Me oh my...
Detroit/Calgary - I watched this game until Detroit was up 4-0, at which point it bored me enough that I shut it off and went to do other things. Thus, I missed all the major hoopla and Calgary meltdown that happened at the end of the game. Now they go back to Calgary with possible suspensions, anger, and what could possibly be a very messy, nasty game. Which Calgary team will show up?
Dallas/Vancouver - Dallas ties up the series with *another* 2-0 win. This is the series of goaltending, and Marty Turco has now jumped ahead of Luongo as the goalie of the playoffs. Game 7 should be a doozy in Vancouver. Another Vancouver team that could let a 3-1 series lead slip out of their fingers... although for the most part, they probably shouldn't have had a 3-1 lead to begin with. Mark game 7 on your calenders people. |

Luongo is still playing better in goal... but curse turco and his puckhandling! Its hard to win when youre always shorthanded... |

Wow. Didn't expect Dallas to win or for Modano to show up. Hopefully Morrow will be able to play in game 7 after that cheap shot by Burrows. |

That was totally uncalled for! Zubov also went out, so he may or may not be playing on Monday. Dallas played tonight like they want the cup.
Glad you get to go to the game, Andrew. Should be a barn burner!!! |

Second Round playoff matches in the East have been settled:
Ottawa will get New Jersey - An interesting matchup, could be fun to watch if New Jersey doesn't start playing the usual trap system again. They didn't against Tampa Bay, but Ottawa has *far* more scoring depth... so we'll see.
Buffalo gets the Rangers - This will be a very explosive series I think. Buffalo better not think, "oh, Rangers, easy". It won't be. They'll be ten times harder than the Islanders, and if Buffalo keeps thinking they'll "just get by" on pure talent alone, they're going to lose this one.
In the west, we're still waiting on Detroit/Calgary and Vancouver/Dallas.
I still think Vancouver can pull it out. Calgary still could too.. we'll have to wait and see. |
