I am enrolled in a class this semester called Video in the Community. However, the project that I am assigned to is a little beyond "video". We are designing a computer game for elementary school students that urges them to make the right choices. The game is going to be distributed to areas that are at high risk for gang activity. We are working closely with the Sherriff's Department, Elementary School, Psychologists and Computer Science Students ... between all of us we have designed this game from scratch. The hardest part was definitely conceptualizing the game. The child will be faced with several decisions to make throughout the game (some gang related, some not) and if they make the right choice they get to play a "mini-game".

The mini game that I am having the hardest time with and I am calling upon you help for is the "Grocery Store Game". Basically, the child is given a list that they briefly get to look at and then a screen will pop up in which they have to use their memory and pull the correct things off of a shelf and put them into the cart.

For the rest of the games we've been using still photographs and putting them through filters... to give the backgrounds and objects a realistic but slighty cartoonish and colorful look. However, I just can't seem to get any ideas flowing for this game. I need to somehow produce shelves, food items to drag off the shelves, and a shopping cart. Please reply with any ideas you have. Thanks so so much!!!
