Interesting to see how much some challenges influence others. Like on the Temperature challenge there are a few shots that were clearly taken for the Nude challenge. I also remember after the Duotone challenge, when the top 3 shots in the following challenge were all Duotone. Not complaining, just thinking aloud...

they aren't always taken for another challenge but in some cases a previous challenge has inspired the person to try something new.

I have noticed the same. In some instances I wonder if the submitter has provided the photo by mistake, but in others it's more interesting.

I think the influence is possibly on both the photographer and the voters. Perhaps voters were more used to looking at duotones (not saying they weren't great photo's by the way). If so, I plan on submitting a nude "round" person spending a hot summer night on the town for the "round" challenge. It's a certainty to win.

Yes, I was thinking along the same lines. Some captures may well be 'outtakes' of a sort, to test the field, so to speak, with different takes of the same subject. I don't see anything wrong with this either. After all, the same or a similar shot often fits more than one challenge.

Given the erratic voting, with the bulk of it seemingly based on familiar or popular sentiment (prejudice over merit), it would make good sense to run the gamut. It's a costly test, in terms of votes, but for some, it may be necessary.

Sometimes in a shoot you get lucky and get more than one shot you think is good, in an even luckier week you may get 2 challenges to submit the 2 good shots in. Or maybe in the busy schedules of life there was only enough time to go out for one shoot and you make it work best you can. I think it is fine to use the shots on same theme as long as still mange to fit them into both challenges.
