So... I'm looking at the Canon verticle grip for the 20D & 30D here:
$169.95 on B&H

But I also see this one - Made by Targus $119.95 on B&H

Anyone have experience with the Targus? What reasons would urge you to choose one over the other (besides price). Is the Targus just as reliable, compatible, functional? Does the Canon one work better for Canon cameras than the non-Canon?

No experience but based on reviews I would just spend the extra on the Canon made grip. Either way you'll end up buying another in a few years. The Canon because they come out with a new camera requiring a new grip and the Targus because it breaks.

Cindi I just got my grip for my 30D today. I would buy Canon if I were you. Just my opinion though.
Based on the fact I bought a Targus battery for my 30D and had to pry it out with needle nose pliers the first time I put it in the camera. Pay for genuine. You won't regret it.

Oh yeah, James. I remember the issue with your off-brand battery. I didn't realize it was Targus. That's enough for me, Canon it is.

from my experience 3rd party grips tend to be made cheaply and aren't nearly as durable as the real thing.
