New JPG magazine theme: America.

If you'd be willing, I'd appreciate a vote for my shot:

Hey, if you're interested in some pretty amazing collage software, check out Fotofusion from Lumapix: //www.lumapix.com/StagingArea/Lumapix/index.shtml?

I just went from downloading it to uploading my first collage in literally 10 minutes:

Granted, I skipped the payment step because my Mom got it for me for my birthday (scrapbook essentials - the lowest level). :)

jack, you asked about the quadtoning thing. it's actually pretty easy - at least for me, as i have yet to make any of my own quadtones. i downloaded ken lee's quadtones, which are fab. he eventells you how to use them. and they're free! there are a few already installed in photoshop, and i guess it wouldn't be too hard to make your own.

jeffrey - the lumapix thing is fun, isn't it?

lea - lovely pictures.

Well I decided to enter hair, played forever, ended up with a dozen out takes, entered one I loved, discovered that I'd broken every rule there is and I must say in a expert editing challenge that takes a special kind of talent. Pulled it, dragged the poor exhausted file from where it was cowering in fear in the dark recesses of my hard drive. And tried it again legal like. And after all that..meh...it's just ok, maybe good for a 5.5 if I'm really lucky and the voters are really happy this week.

wow, breaking rules in expert. that takes...something.

i've resubmitted my landscape three times now. changed my mind, then realised it was 720 pixels, then remembered it could be 200mb. gah.

Well no one can say we're not persistent xian. :D
04/17/2007 08:09:23 AM · #310
Mine is 720, with a 20 pixel border and I still had to save it at 64% to get it down to 200K. That, all by itself, is a huge indicator it's got too much information for DPC voters. So I'm happy with it. :-)

Dammit I've just looked at it and decided it needs cropping...

Hey, do you guys think a seascape would count for the landscape challenge? We don't really have any landscapes to speak of here in Charleston, SC.
04/17/2007 08:26:42 AM · #313
Well if the blue ribbon from Landscape II is anything to go by I'd say yes.

Wow - how did you break the expert editing rules ??
04/17/2007 09:25:39 AM · #316
I need help (yes I know that you can't help with mental) Couple of questions how do you get peoples names to link in your post? Then where are the break out challenge photo's of Team suck members? I'm not a good comment person, but do like to ask questions on how you did that so that I can learn more. I do need all the help I can get. I almost got the brown on chains just two short ;)

hey rosemary. the challenge results are here.

to make a link to a user name, click on the rightmost button in the text box when you're typing. the one with the little person on it. then type in te username of the person you want. click ok. tadah! make sure you have spelling and capitlisation correct, or the program will go huh? and won't link. i speak from experience.

ps, have you visited the team suck tips and tricks forum? just click on the team suck logo in my signature, and you'll find load of helpful stuff there.

I used my beloved brushes and to make it worse some of them had text on them. I'll post it after the challenge as a what NOT to do in expert editing.

Hi everyone

Wow, almost had to swim here today, we got the nor'easter Kelli got blasted by too, only more snow (Canada, eh?)

Thanks all for Chains comments, very useful, I did want to do a tighter crop, but then feared that the trolls would be whingeing about not being able to see what it was the chains were on.

I'm in for Hair, processed the snot out of it, and Kitchenware should be fun to shoot.

Good work Kashi! Welcome Gnarf and Lars - if the old Team Suck HQ thread is still in existence, get my brownie recipe off of page 24. If it's not there PM me and I'll send it to you.

Oh yeah, sold another pic...same item, the fried egg candy dish. Mystified as to why people seem to like it, but not complaining that they like it enough to buy it!

OK time to go do some voting before galloping off to play with horsies.

Hahahahaha! *Finger snaps of approval* (the cool way to applaud a poem, at least when I was doing slam poetry some years back).

Hahahaha Catherine, too funny - and as it's an Appy in the pic I can well understand why the sign may read Cow...let's just say that two of the worst horses I ever rode were Appaloosa mares, and one of the best was also an Appaloosa mare...

Gotta go now, hi-ho Protege!

Raish you are quite the poet :-) I especially like the part about the chimera. And the website's title - "country fried BULL" is most excellent.
