Okay in a further effort to not use Thunderbird due to its lack of an export ability and manual procedure for backing up mail.

I finally figured out how to see and sync up with other then standard IMAP folders by subscribing to them.

Here is the question

When I move my email say all my itunes/apple mail into the itunes folder i created ont he server. It moves into that folder and even shows up on their through the webmail. But it continues to show in the inbox striked out no matter what i do.

When i log into my webmail and look the itunes mail is in its folder then i goto inbox the itunes mail of course is not there. When i log out all of a sudden outlook doesnt show it in the inbox.

Is there anything outlook is not doing or can be doing to automaticly complete this (switchover).

I have always liked thunderbird but for my backup purposes outlook works better.

little confused and never even heard of Thunderbird, but lets see if I understand...

You are sync'ing your external email through outlook but they aren't displaying correctly in outlook even though they do in the mail server itself?

The first thing I thought of was whether you had to do a manual sync (import) or whether it was automatic. I know getting my email from the server is totally auto but my coworker always has to hit connect. Even at home mine is automatic but I can choose to update only certain ones.

As for showing up then having a line through it...did you move them AFTER you did outlook at least once? I would guess that outlook saw them there first and since you moved them, outlook doesn't know where to find them...not sure how deep in folders outlook goes looking for email. Instead of moving them on the server how about just setting up folders in outlook and creating a rule to move them automatically? I know when you are logged on to the server it makes it easier to find them but this might be the issue.

Good luck.

edit...cause I type faster than I think

Having a second issue, If i create an IMAP folder on the server then go into outlook and subscribe to it it show sup on both.

But if i create the IMAP Folder in outlook it is not on the server.... WAAAAAAAAAHHHHH

Thunderbird works soooo much better.

EDIT - Even worse it doesnt show up in the webmail but when i create a folder through webmail thats the same name as one created in outtlook it tells me it already exists.

EDIT - okay okay good news is a log in log out solved that.
