Lookit me - too much time on my hands...

Just sitting here and putting off going grocery shopping as long as possible. I was wondering if we have a team or if we have to go begging for peeps? lol

So far the team is me, Deb, and John. I am going to ask Louellen if she still wants to be on.

Teresa, Asim - whassup? lol

Brian - I wonder if he would have time since they have a new babe coming! Cannot wait to see the baby pics.

I just want to know because if we don't have enough for a team, I am gonna throw myself into the free agent pool and see what happens.

Hey Team!
I e-mailed Brian the day I posted here about his file - no response yet.

I am looking forward to another WPL round with you guys so count me in.

BTW - what a shot in the arm for confidence when I posted to the pick your fav from the person above you game and the next guy posted my "still" shot and added "seriously underrated in that challenge" :)

Dinner on Friday was so good I'll have to get out again tonight! Gosh, this break went fast.

Hey Deb - that is a nice thing for someone to say. Whoo hoo!

Nice profile pic - you look like a very warm and fun-loving person!

Asim - you are not voted off, and you can have the immunity totem token necklace thingy or whatever it is they use.

Edit to add: I did finally go grocery shopping and now I am putting off grading tests. ha! Think I should go out and play.

Same here, though I thought I had already said that a few times already.

Deb, I love the profile pic too! Great Portrait!

*sniff* you left me out of the list *sniff*
hehehe just teasing! Don't wanna be forgotten!

I was so geared up to join the GTG today at the zoo! I'm so upset, the weather is PERFECT and I got sick overnight so I couldn't go! I'm so mad!
I hope another one is planned later in the summer season!
I wanted to meet some other local photogs so badly!
04/15/2007 01:57:21 PM · #460
yeah that sucks getting sick on a nice day! and a GTG to boot! well raise a flag and start another GTG later - you can do it! lol

I am getting sick too - I can feel it coming on and I have an interview on April 30 so I am PRAYING that this goes away quick or waits till after that.

I hear ya about wanting to meet other local photogs. I am sure there are a bunch here in town - just that I do not know if anyone does anything together - for fun.

The only one I know of recently lives in this town and used to work for the Toledo Blade. Had to quit because of some altering of published photos. It's an interesting story and I would not be surprised if there isn't more to the story.

Check out the link - it is pretty interesting.

Posting this before I forget. Just spoke with Louellen and she will not be participating in the WPL this round. So we need at least one more.

Deb have you heard from Brian?
04/18/2007 07:07:58 PM · #462
I have not heard from Brian. I checked his profile and he hasn't posted in a while, nor has he responded to my e-mail.

DSterner AU-5, is that Gold?

Asimchoudhri, I bought and installed a copy of Adobe Lightroom last weekend. It comes in both PC and Mac flavours for 199. I like it so far the only major difference from my Adobe Bridge is it can create thumbs for offline storage. I like the popup/floating "Thirds" lines when you click on the cropping tool. Excellent, productive workfow, interface, but I prefer tabbed-pages of Adobe Bridge, instead of scrolling UP/DN of the right Window pane.

I also got Nikon Capture program and tried "Tethered" shooting connecting to my laptop. It was able to keep up with 15 shots in a row and the fps speed. I don't have the RAM to do any major editing on the Laptop. I also has a software base remote control to do everything as if I pressed the controls manually on the camera. Focus points, speed, aperture. But you can't see through the viewfinder or rotate/zoom.

Ok, gang, whats a happenin?

It's my guess that we are needing to recruit 2 more chatty members for our team. John, have you been on the lookout?

04/20/2007 10:50:12 AM · #465
lol chatty members... chatty motley crew style or just chatty in general???? We are such a quiet group.

John do you need help finding them?
04/21/2007 10:34:01 AM · #466
Hey Gang!
I chatted with Brian the other night on Yahoo. He was pleased to have made the connection as he was a pending member on my add list. His time is very limited with the baby on the way, but he pops in as time permits. I told him that we were all asking about him - he thought that was sweet.

John, AU-5 is the "average under 5 group" ...I get a special sense of "place" wearing the badge LOL. I guess it's a support group of sorts for those of use who can't soar up the ranks into solid 5's, ribbons or tons of comments because our photos are a testament to the art. ~~~grin~~~

I am using my new camera a lot! I think I am learning too. I have been doing some daily exercises for DOF and managing the setting that works best for me. I jumped into full manual for a bit, but learned quickly that it was more than I could keep track of. I scaled back to operating in A mode.

I'd love to learn how to co-ordinate the use of flash without going to auto mode... A new flash came with my camera/lense package - plus the flash I have and the slave flash attachement...

At least I have Teresa to tell me when to slow down and get a handle on the basics - I was seconds away from buying some stuff posted on the buy and sell here and I had the sense to ask her about it - Thanks T...but I still have that "PayPal" money burning a hole in my Internet pocket!

I have been having fun shooting little stuff using the light box I made. I shot some stuff for the insect challenge using that - but opted for a different setting for my entry. Grrrr ...it's at 4.2, but it changes every hour +/- ...If it stays around there, I have other entries that scored worse.

I am in the 30 day portrait side challenge - a little behind as of now, but again I thought it would be a good way to keep me using the camera. So many DPCers have been very kind to comment on my posts and offer suggestions too. Those side challenges are great for learning!

Our triplets made their confirmation. Thursday night was the ceremony and I need to process some of those pictures for the 30 day portrait thread as well as sending off to family.

AND FINALLY....the school yearbook has be wrapped up and sent by Monday...that means a couple trips to school this weekend to end the misery of it all. LOL Grades were due too! AHHHHH!!!!!

...where's my Canon? I wanna shoot something!

Been e-mailing with sis about the confirmation and "where have the years gone"!!! LOL It seemed like yesterday at thier baptism that Katie piddled on me during a diaper change - rule is - I have to send her to college! since she marked me!

We DO rock lol but is WHO charging? I am slow today.

Did Brian say if he wanted to participate this go around? I just dropped a note saying we were looking for people.
