Although I find it entertaining to see replies to five year old threads and the subsequent string of posts by people unaware that they are responding to ancient history, I think it would be helpful to have some visual indicator on the last post of a thread that is more than 3 months old.

My preference would be cobwebs and rust, but any visual clue would suffice.

Ha. That would work. We do need some kind of indicator.

What, and decrease the entertainment? What fun would that be? Just kidding, I think it is a great idea also.

I think you over did it but yeah pretty much. Someone replied to a thread form 2002. And i freaked when someone suggested buying a new usb cable for 5 to 7 bucks. Because the camera doesn't use a standard mini-b plug.

And then someone told me it was from 02.

Possibly a simple reminder after no activity for 3 months.

"There better be a good reason for bringing up the dead!

I agree. Maybe just a little reminder to the resurrector of the dead thread.

"This thread is XXXX months/years old and has not been active for XXXX months/years. Are you sure you want to proceed?"

Certainly not a graphic masterpiece like yours, but I'll dredge up the example I mocked up the last time some goon suggested this.

There ARE a few threads worthy of resurrecting, like the NILMDTS one, but a warning would be nice in most cases.

Well now I know I've been here toooo long when I am repeating my own posts and without a twinge of deja vu. I like your mockup MK, even though I don't look like that anymore since the surgery. "Payton's Hex" seems like it would be pretty effective also.

I guess I'll just let it go for now and repeat the suggestion in a couple months. Or maybe it would be funner to stir up some really good long-dead threads. >:)

we need to pass a new law to prevent time travellers from posting in the forums, hehe...

To be honest, I think we need a "There are 68 previous threads on this topic, including 3 created in the past two weeks, which address this topic" alert on the "create thread" page more than this ...

I hope to come back someday and bump this thread.
