is the extraction of the jpg image from the file raw legal in minimal editing. I remember a thread on this subject but I don't remember the conclusion. If this is legal do you know some software for this purpose?

The file utility software from Canon will allow you extract the jpeg.

You are allowed to extract the jpeg but you can not convert the raw to jpeg.

To quote from the minimal editing rules:

You may not:
Use a RAW original or RAW conversion software. You may shoot in RAW+JPG mode, provided you use the JPG original to create your entry.
