Took this one during the Easter break, I've done some slight editing on it, reducing the contrast etc.
Is it any good?

This has great potential I think...... I love the muted greys of the foliage blending with the grey of the sky. It has an isolated, lonely feel to it and you usually can't go wrong with a leading lines composition. However, my 2p worth is that the foreground distraction takes away from the image too much. Also, I think positioning the tracks off to the side will really help. Processing wise, possibly burn in some of the clouds, boost saturation in the blue a bit.....and bingo! |

I concur with Arjay.
The fg, and the right side twigs are distracting.
Offsetting the road is not a bad idea, as per the 'rule of thirds'.
Other than that, it does have great potential.

is this one any better? I've noticed by viewing this one on another screen that it is too dark, but I also do not get the same feel from this one as I do the original.
Do you think it is worth cropping the first one to get rid of the branches in the foreground?
