The design is a bit minimal for my taste... also I think it's a bad idea using a splash page... it increases the number of clicks before a visitor gets to something they want to see and doesn't do very much. Also, the drop shadow on your Fuji on the splash page cuts out at the edge of the photo which I don't think looks good. I don't like the font in your 'About Me' page which doesn't match the rest of your site. Your thumbnails don't seem to be very optimised, I'm sure you can shrink the size down more than that! Most of your photos could do with some unsharp mask in my opinion as well. Other than that, great!
Phew, hope you find these constructive criticisms useful!

One thing that constantly annoys me is websites where I have to scroll to the right in order to see everything. I think that alot of people still use 800x600, and it's just a pain to look at sites designed for only higher moniter settings.

I like it. In my opinion simple is always better. I hate going to a site where you have to do a million and one clicks to get where you want to be.

Only two suggestions. Firstly, is there a particular reason for having the front page? If not, I'd get rid of it.
Secondly, I'd either move the guestbook and visitor thingys or the other choices (About Me, Galleries, etc.) somewhere else. Having the text options and icons so close together makes it look "funny", for lack of a better word.

thanks martus simplicity is what im after. i hate these web guys who put to much onto a page, it makes it look cluttered the design i was going for was a simple one in order to make my pictures the most important aspect. the front page will probably go within the next two or three days it was only there as a placemark while i was building the actual site content. the galleries are no where near ready yet, but im getting there slowly the more galleries i add the smaller the thumbnails will be.

guestbook and counter are there simply to see if they work im thinking where i can put them as we speak

A very simple and cool design (get rid of the splashscreen, though). Makes me wonder if there is any way I can make my site simpler. I have tried several times, but I have just too many different categories of information and too many interests ;)

It is a SharQ-adapted version Photo Post (just a few small programming / aestatic / statistical changes). Costs a few bucks, but significantly less than a new camera lens, and saves having to mess about with HTML.

If you don't want to spend the money, have a look at the recent thread on the topic of galleries here on DPC, or have a peek in my links section (under photography software). There are 4-5 free photo gallery systems listed there.

good luck!

Looks nice. Simple, clean but straight to the point.

I would increase the size of thext for the main title. Maybe change the color or font. And resuce the size of the fonts on the bottom and fit them all on one line.

Nice start.

I would suggest you decrease the font sizes throughout the site, especially the navigation (about, etc). my resolution is set to 1152x864 and everything is looking big, so I can't imagine how it'd look on a 800x600. It'd be good to make it so that people do not have to scroll horizontally to see the whole site. Maybe decrease the width so it is about the same as it is inside the Addington link where all the thumbnails are.

and do not expect everyone's default bgcolor to be set to white, make sure they see what you see by setting it yourself in the html body. (mine's set to a light grey so a lot of sites look horrible on my screen!)

otherwise, good start. nice and simple. the images should definitely take centerstage. :o)
