Blurred a photograph into oblivion and entered it into a challenge.

I heard all this talk about DQ's because the editing changed the viewers description .

Sure id score really bad but who thinks disqualifying it even though its only blurred would be BS?

Sorry for my random thought.

It doesn't matter how you go about removing major elements, the removal of a major element is grounds for disqualification.

A single blur could render the entire image into a gradient like image... im gonna go cry now j/k

I was just curious!

....wait how about the removal of ALL elements.... KIDDING!

You'd be DQd, just like the other folks who have done similar things.

I can't remember the specific example right now, but someone shrank the image down to four pixels, then blew it back up. Or cropped out only 4 pixels and blew it up. Or something.

And was DQd.

Last i checked resizing it twice is specifically against the rules.

Be careful - that's minimal editing rules only.

Right - but that's in basic editing, and since no editing really is allowed in minimal, there, too.

But in advanced some distortion is allowed, like to correct perspective.

Heh. Expert's much more wide open than advanced, so anything legal in advanced is legal in expert, as far as I know.

We already discussed the double resize (That Image). I was speaking of a Blur.

say this image turned into this
.
via a 250 Pixel Blur.

But i mean wece arrived at a conclusion but thanks for finding the pic we were talking of.
Just a random thought i had

There would be little difference in the way the rules would be interpreted for your idea and my DQ.

Its my understanding that if you can not see any of the detail in the area you blurred then you have remove a major element and your photograph would be subject to DQ.

Examples
--->Original (No blur)
--->OK (20 px blur)
--->DQ (250 px blur)
