What a great group we have here! Way to make me feel better! Thanks guys...everyone is SO encouraging. I'm really getting excited and looking forward to taking some better images to share.

I was thinking that it might be a good idea to have an internal (team rejects only) assignment or challenge. Something where we critique each other for fun. It could be tied to the challenges, or could be something entirely separate. What do you think?

I'm up for it.

I would love any and all comments/critiques re-processes.

I've been doing the 30 day portrait challenge, and I'm a couple days ahead if anyone wants to take a look.

I'd like to try something like that, too. Any suggestions? I'm super lame with coming up with ideas. Sorry. I'm the teams bad leg, lol!

I think that would be a great idea as well. Like C'Anne, I am also doing the 30-day Portrait Challenge. I am not ahead, but have been able to get one in every day so far. I don't know if I will today or not though. I'm in the process of moving also, and that is taking up some major time. I may have to cheat and upload an older image instead. But, back on subject, I think an internal challenge, or even group participation in the next 30-day challenge would be helpful. Either way, we should definitely post all photos in our own thread as well to make sure that we are all able to take a look at all of them and give honest critiques as well.

I think it sounds like a great idea. The worst thing that can happen is we learn something.

So I was messing around in my basement today and thought I'd try some smoke shots. This is the first.

Just messing around, huh? When I mess around, it looks like a mess, lol! That looks really great.

I do not think I have ever used curves adjustment. I think I need to go play with that.

Curves is one of my favorite toys on CS2. Its very pwerful and can make tons of adjustments. There might be a tutorial here in the learn section.

Looks like it is time to elect a captain.

I nominate Chesire.
04/10/2007 08:53:03 AM · #89
I second that nomination, if she'll take it : )
04/10/2007 09:23:22 AM · #90
I uhhhh third it. Yeah thats the ticket, I third her nomination. So now that three of us have chimed in does that mean she has to take the captian position?
04/10/2007 10:37:21 AM · #91
:)

Three still isn't a majority. And obviously I couldn't vote for myself (that's just silly)

so you need one more :p

(Yes I'll take the job. I'm proud of the group)

I will see if my daughter will design us a banner this afternoon. Any thoughts on colors or fonts, etc?

Will you guys check this picture out for me please.

When I look at it from home, it's wonderful, I can't find fault in it.

BUT when I look at it at work... OMG it's all red and there's this shadow under her eyes.

What do YOU see. Is it just my laptop monitor is really horribly calibrated?

04/11/2007 12:28:33 PM · #100
My monitor shows a little red, but it's not bad, and the eyes look all right from here also.
