I was playing with displacement maps in Photoshop and came up with this. Kind of weird, I know, but I like it!
This was the original:

You can create a displacement map from any image. You save it as a black and white image, and when you apply it to another image, the image 'warps' to the shape of the displacement map. I realize that isn't a very good explanation, but I don't know that much about it. I'll look for a good displacement map tutorial to post here. But for now, this is what I did to create this image:
I began by creating a spiderweb type image in Photoshop (from scratch, no photo) and placed a gradient behind the web. I saved it as a displacement map. I then applied the displacement map to a closeup of Jonah. I then copied the same image over and over again, changing sizes and orientation. I then smoothed the overlap for each image layer. Converted to BW and applied a sandstone texture...

That's cool. I got a similar effect by shooting this through a 50 cent faceted lens in a kid's novelty "kaleidoscope"

I can't find a copy of the web pattern I used for the displacement map, but here is another image I used it in. I used the stained glass filter in photoshop to make the web pattern. I selected the web part and deleted the 'inside parts', then applied a bevel to it. I then replaced the background with a gradient. The background only is what I created the displacment map with:
