Now that kid looks like a catcher.
Great shots, you really captured some fantastic expressions.

These are all really good images. You did a great job of capturing the action. My favorites are the first shot and the last one. I like the first because of the dust coming up from the runner and the players glove. The last one I like because it is one of those images that you don't see too often. The low angle with the lights in the background is cool. Nice job on these.

Overall excellent, excellent captures. You've captured great "little league" type moments.

For the most part I'd up the brightness and increase saturation of some of the images. They look a little dark an bright colors fit anything childhood. You might consider burning in the backlighted player to bring out more detail and attract more attention to the player from the BG light.

Yeah, I think I need to adjust my shutter speed a bit. I think I overkill on the speed a bit, and need to keep a constant shutter for now on and adjust my ISO instead.

What about this image??

Thanks.

I come from the 'old' world of photography that firmly believes that getting it right in-camera is absolutely paramount. That has not changed nor will it ever change. But in digital we have more flexibility than we had in the past. What we do in post processing, far more than we ever could have imagined in film-based photography, makes a difference. The good photographer knows how to take the best from both worlds to create a great image.

This latest image matches both 'old' world and 'new' world technical requirements for a 'good' image because of the white and the red uniform and other considerations.

Does this make it a 'good' image? In technical terms, yes. But for content and composition that is a decision for mass viewers. And therein lies the difference between the 'good' and the 'great'.
