All this time I have been coming up with good spinning ideas and I end up shooting a 'still' LOL I missed the pop culture one. Just to much in my drives. I had to move some to my husbands machine to get the still shot in. LOL |

yawn yawn we are a sleepy and quiet group. tell me what is up with ya'll.
I have a pic in SPIN which i thought was good but the voters do not. Aiming for BROWN!
I Looooooooooooooove my pop culture pic. People aren't seeing the irony in it.
So what are you guys doing? Who is actually going to be in the next WPL? I am not sure if Photointerest is going to want to do it or not. And I know they are changing the rules so I am guessing that it could possibly change the team structure. So it should be interesting!
What up peeps - talk! lol

Awwww Deb - thanks so much! That was timely. I took a major brow-beating by some students yesterday and it is eating at me today. So I came and read this and now I feel better! :)

Tlemetry, how did your wedding shot go? I hope all is safe now at the H.S. and the pranksters should definetly get expelled from there as an example for such behaviour.
I missed entering the Pop Culture. I had two great possible entries, so I did a last minute experiment doing 9 flashes and a 15-sec exposure, for the Spinning category. I wasn't expecting it to do too well(4.5xx-currently), but my experiment with the RPT (Repeating flash) mode on the Nikon SpeedLight SB-800, was worth the time/effort.
I would be happy to continue as a team. I think we could learn from each other. Maybe in a week we could get a preliminary head count to who wants to be on this team. So we can see if we need to find any replacements. That would be only the current status, a lot can happen before the end of the year and WPL-5 of 2008.
I got my highest dpc challenge score on my birthday April 9th last year. I really will try to get some ribbons during the rest of this year. I plan to do some shooting at the Botonical Gardens, Zoo/RainForest, and whereever any vacations take us.

The pranksters are being charged with terrorism, endangerment, and several other charges. On one hand, I understand the need to make an example out of this kid so it is discouraged from happening again. On the other hand, I'm saddened that if this kid, on a stupid whim, decided to pull a prank, he will pay for it dearly for the rest of his life. What if a child really does see a gun, would he be willing to call it in? Not with the risk of being hung from the rafters if its not found!
I did make a 'still' but its not doing so well. The votes were low but someone faved it! So that makes me feel so much better.
what people don't seem to consider when viewing and voting is that a photograph is not always JUST about the subject but about light, form, texture, color, and shapes. My shot was about light and form. It was minimalist and simple. I like it! It's also contre-jour though at the time I didn't realize it. I find that I like shooting contre-jour quite often.

I tried that low participants logic with pop culture. Didn't get me anywhere - but I love my pic nonetheless. I hope yours is doing well!
I am waiting for my spin pic to stop turning and fall. And I have one ready to go for contre-jour. Dummy here nearly went blind.
What else are you guys doing? Or - how the heck is everyone doing? lol

I have two good ideas for the Contre-Jour I plan on doing tonight.
One is humerous and involves the sun's natural light. The second is more serious and involves two artificial lights. Decisions, decisions, mainly to get them done and post processed in time. |

john - too many of your good shots have missed the deadline. I suggest you get a clock and move it ahead about 5 minutes so you think you are running behind lol.

lol Good idea. I could have gotten a really good lightning shot. Does that count for shooting toward the light? To bad I wasn't setup and prepared! It was bright as could be and struck somewhere very near. I heard car alarms going off and the resulting thunder scared the bejeebers out of my dogs! Today is not a very good shooting day. So I am doing paperwork. fun fun!
So sorry, Asim, about missing your email. I missed the deadline for the freestudy.
gotta get back to the paperwork... grrr

With the recent discussion on MVP. I would like to point out our very own MVP of our team. I looked over the stats for our team. I am nominating ColorCarnival our personal MVP!
Although there were a few of us that had a score for each week.
She has only missed one challenge in the entire WPL season. Her scores were steadily high the entire season. This is the model we should strive for for the WPL 5!
All in favor, say aye!

oh you guys are so sweet! And the nomination came from a ribbon winner to boot.
This came at a great time for me because I have had one of those emotionally weird weeks. This was a great boost.
You guys rock!
And thank you. :o)

I believe T's post was to imply that you ROCK and the team agrees. For you to add that "we rock" seems like rock throwing and that is just uncalled for! ***ducks and RUNS!***

Here is a special Easter card for my friends!
My mom was able to save a few tulips from her yard before the big freeze killed them all. Poor things! The poor dogwoods at my mother-in-laws house was just horrible!
How was everyones easter?
