Not to mention that the 'blue ribbon' winner of said challenge now occupies 4th place for highest rated image.
Don't know if that'll change, but it's kind of a .. well, I won't go there, but maybe it highlights a fault with this whole business. |

Gotta agree with you there. Would have been nice to let others have a chance at a high score too.....it's his highest score, he got a blue ribbon on his profile page for it, not bad. Maybe a few more of us could have gotten a nice high score to bring our averages up if we had been allowed to enter the shots we took, but of course we weren't allowed because the 24 hour challenge wasn't left there for 24 hours to submit to.

Well konador stated ad far as he knew they werent getting blue red and yellow ribbons "as we know it" not exact words but he did say as far as he knew, so not his fault.
I was going to enter the challenge, would probly got last place but, outside of it being a joke it was less thena joke but an unfair challenge.
Wont let it turn into another debate. A joke would of ended with the challenge never having been voted on.
(Maybe if the dollar store had opened earlier so i could get a fake wine glass and a lollipop!)

This whole thing is sad. I've been participating long enough at DPC now to honestly say this is the biggest farce I've seen yet. Rates right up there with the other "big" events of 2006 IMO. I mention this is sad; sad in the fact that this April Fool's "joke" will continue to be felt at DPC for a long, long time. |

sometimes things are taken a bit too personally around here.
it's too bad some people aimed at entering and couldn't, i guess. but i don't see this being a stigma for more than a week or so. let it go.
the guys that own this domain have every right to do whatever they feel like with it - whether it offends people, makes them happy, makes them cry, makes them cringe, pisses them off, makes them puke, etc.
i'd say it was a good joke, and feel no pity for those who fell for it.
i hope drew and langdon are still hooting it up about the whole thing...

I was still confused abou this until maybe 4 minutes ago. I didn't even realize how angry and bitter I should be ;P ... I'm glad i didn't do a vanish image because I guarantee I would have attempted to submit it 11 minutes after the challenge vanished.

No offense, but since this is a pay site for many, I'd disagree with that statement. I wasn't personally affected by the "prank(s)", except for having to wade through the resultant glut of confusion in the forums. I'm glad I didn't bother to vote, though. |

gosh!
I almost cancelled a day out with friends to shoot for this challenge.
I almost went out to buy a lollipop so I'd have all the items.
I almost spent an hour shooting and another hour editing.
I almost could have entered this challenge before realizing it had "vanished."
So I almost could have had my highest score ever sitting on my portfolio page along with my rubber duck from 2 Aprils ago.
Well, I have to say I'm almost really, really p*ss*d off!

i personally don't pay to be a member here for my right to complain. and even though you might, it still doesn't amount to a hill of beans when it comes to what does and doesn't happen behind the scenes.
you pay them for space to store some pictures outside the challenges, and to be able to enter exclusive challenges for paying members - should the owners decide to provide you with them.
i pay for gasoline when my tank is empty - does that give me the right to pay what i feel is a fair price per gallon for it? nope. oh and if i complain enough about the price will the oil mongers lower it for me? nope.
i'd generally would just ignore these type of threads, but that's getting to be a burdon...
