I just found this odd....
I've been consistent in the open challenges for the last 3 pics. 5.238, 5.241, 5.242. Doesn't get much closer than that.
On the completely opposite end of the world, for the member challenges, My last 3 finishes were 6.766, 6.853 and 7.727. All top 10's.
The scores are totally representitive of the photos. The voters did their job right. It just leaves me wondering a little... What the hell am I doing wrong in the open challenges?
I skipped this last open challenge incidently.

Tracy you are probably right. I should think about it more. Probably what I'm doing is taking all the time on the first challenge (members) and only leaving myself 2 days to do the open. The last 2 pics I sorta shoehorned them in. Well I'll be sitting out the next challenge too, but I'll hopefully be ready for temperature. We'll see I reckon...

it's kind of funny (ironic? paradoxical?) that both challenges that I won were Open challenges.

My submissions fail miserably in either challenge, so there goes your theory.

Maybe your images have a broader appeal and mine are just more appealing to camera junkie types :) I blame irony and coincidence for my scores. It couldn't be MY fault, right?
I've been looking for consistency, but 5.2ish consistency isn't exactly what I had in mind.

it's ok. my last few subs in either challenge have been (by my standards anyway) bombing. mostly 5's. this week's shot (nite on the town) = 4.7 at this moment. :/
so much for broad appeal ...
