Actually, I hope this thread not become accusative and we can find out what is eroding the community and deal with it as a group. Consider this a town meeting of sort.

Good point... DPC is what you make it. But it's really hard to ignore the mean-spirited comments or the childishness in the forums, and when you challenge people about it, you get it in the neck. I sometimes wish there could be some growing up, or that I could mind my own business. |

Cindi, I have to agree with you on this, even if I'm not that good at practicing it.... |

Hello? Boy, it got quiet in here. :)
To answer the satirical question of the OP, I think a couple of events adjusted the composition of DPC; 1) The Rikki scandal and 2) The WPL cheating event.
Item 1 polarized this community IMO. In the event that took place, as it made people wonder about the merit of challenge results (if this could happen, what else?). Secondly, the community was split in reaction with a fairly large group in support of Rikki even after the event (see a recent thread that still illustrates this). This reaction may not have sat well with the more conservative members of DPC.
Item 2 in itself was not large on the impact scale (number of people involved, nor challenge results), but it came on the heels of Item 1 and may have cast further doubt on the validity/integrity of challenges and their results.
Personally, I'm not saying the impact in either case was large scale when compared to the number of votes per challenge - but it just left an uneasy feeling in the minds of some IMO.
There are probably quite a few reading the above and wondering what the heck I'm talking about. Therein lies the beauty of DPC. It keeps growing and changing constantly. Gradually it will keep shifting as the DPC community adds new members and loses a few along the way.
Every one of us has the power to maintain (or alter) the DPC dynamic, via the way we conduct ourselves here and by talking about and sharing DPC with others. If you want more people like yourself hanging around, share DPC with people in your photo club, Mom's club, or church group. Don't snicker, that's the people in my immediate radar - yours can and will differ. :D
My bucket of change. Now I have to wonder if the echoes are still out there since I took so long to gather my thoughts on this. :P

I see a clear message here, fotomann. It's obvious you're attempting to start another DPC witch-hunt to have some 'person' banned from the site. I'm all for witch-hunts, they're good entertainment. I'm just sad that you're still holding a grudge against me. Can't we put the past to rest?

I vote for anarchy.
If we could somehow convince each of the SC members to ban themselves, then my take-over of these forums would be much easier. Once I'm in place as the sovereign king, things will be much different. |

Let's just blame it all on Rikki and get on with it. |

Come on, it's a classic, besides they are still harboring the notorious Slippy. |

Suit yourself. :) I just mentioned the event and the one that followed it as being an emotionally charged time that really fired up the DPC community (for better or for worse). This in response to the OP question of (basically) when did DPC change. |
